Had enquired about the Alto K10 with ABT, Chennai. Seems today they have called all dealers for a meeting. Approx price increase will be 20K over the current Alto Lxi (3.27L OTR, Chennai)

And the Official Launch would be this Wednesday (Aug 4th). I think we may get some hard info by tomorrow from the dealers.

Fingers crossed for pricing of the models.
Assuming K10 Lxi to be 20K higher than currency Lxi.
Ex-showroom price in Hyd should be around

3.04L for Lxi K10
3.24L for Vxi K10 (assuming 20 increase over Lxi). OTR price would be close to 3.9L for Vxi. That's huge money.

I don't see on road Bangalore price going beyond 3.6L, and thats a decent price for a car with bigger and better engine with upgraded tyres, and some interior. Just a simple break up -
Tyre upgrade cost - 3k
Front power window - 5k
Foglamp - 1k
Gear box & Steering wheel change - 2k
headlamp design change - 0.5k
Bit more inside/back leg room space - 0.5k
Engine upgrade & Suspension change - 10k+
Total - 22k+

So if they are charging only 20K above the current version, its a good job done.

Now the above observations are only my views, so different views are all welcome.

I wish they have the speakers location in Doors !!!

That is my only constraint for now, else i am all set to take a plunge with this Hottie and i seriously dont mind if they raise the price by 20K or 30K.

As long as its under 3.75 L OTR i am fine

Vxi has techometer as well. How much does that cost? Also, the cost would further increase if they provide audio system.

Same feeling here, I would too pick a A-Star over an Alto, don't know what will happen to A-Star now.

Alto K10 spotted!

Saw the new K10 Alto today in chennai. It was a white Demo car with Alto K10B stickering all over. The front end looks good, and the car appeared longer than the alto. The rear, somehow reminded me of the micra. I had very little time to check out the car as i was in traffic, but these are my initial observations.

Just a gut feeling.

Since Alto is getting K10, i believe Maruti can try and put K12 in the A-star. That would be another hot hatch to drive! Seeing the sales of A-star, i think such a move is going to happen soon!

This would also help to differentiate A-star from Estilo/ WagonR.

Interior spy pics

Check out the interior spy pictures courtesy Goa on wheels website

Dashboard is the same as current Alto. Notice the AStar steering wheel and Swift's gear knob.

Inconsistent panel gaps on the glove box is an eyesore.

All new instrument console with tacho. Notice the kinks on the steering wheel.

Notice the increased rear legroom. Front seats seem to have cut some flab. Fabric inserts on the door pad lend a classy look. Only manual window winders at the rear.

OVRM's a straight lift from the Vx 1.1 parts bin. Seperate pod for the power window = cost cutting.

Power windows only at the front.

Though the current A-Star sells well in overseas markets, it is not doing the intended job here in India. They need to launch the modified A-Star available in Japan.
