Scoop pics: Great Wall Hover CUV being tested in Pune

Caught this "CUV" Great Wall Hover being tested in Pune. Pics are from my cell cam so please bear with the quality. From the outside vehicle looked well put together somehow it reminded me of the previous gen Grand Vitara... not able to upload more photos will do it once this thread is approved

Headlamps look like those of Endeavour and the whole thing resembles the new Prado.
BUT looks expensive and impressive considering its chinese.

I believe you find these chin cars in decent numbers in Dubai, and many of them are driven by proud Indians.

this seems to be a rip off of now discontinoued Isuzu Axiom SUV.. this one has a friendlier looking front and rear treatment. but i feel its quite narrow.

Nice scoop, thanks for sharing. I hope the Hover CUV is doing just that (i.e. testing). Toyota, Mahindra and Tata aren't going to let go of their stronghold in the MUV segment too easy. The only thing that works in Hover's favour is the pricing...but Tata & Mahindra play the VFM card rather well themselves. The upcoming Tata Aria could potentially serve the large MUV + features + VFM price segment too.

Nice catch. I have not too much knowledge about the Hover brand BUT this definitely looks much better than the Mahindra's and the Ugly Tata Aria !

How can be Tata Aria ugly?? We should not forgot that Tata has a very short experience in the automobile industry and they have provided cars with the best VFM

they buy because it is cheaper than ****. None of them has any good things the tell about them. And few who tell its good, thats because its their first car and they have not driven, owned other vehicles. There are many first person horror stories, I will post when I get time to write detailed posts.

BTW, these guys are seriously getting good at cloning.

When you say cloning, is it just the design or the mechanicals like the engine and chassis too?

I dislike the large hood scoop. But the headlamps and driver's seating position is what interests me!

If priced right, it should sell well I hope.

Your profile says you're located in Dubai and that you drive a HONDA Civic. Practice what you preach dude.

The front looks nice but the interiors are, like most MUV's, from a decade ago.

Cool. The other (read time-tested) UV makers will be forced to reduce the price, which is good for the end user.

Has anyone here used Chinese cars consistently for a good period? What is the quality and long term reliability like?
