How about the AT. Honda seem to have decided against an AT version of the Jazz.

Has anybody read Autocar's Micra review. Link attached below:
Nissan Micra test drive and review | Autocar India

As per the same, it not as drivable in the city traffic as the Suzuki's K-series engine & one needs to shift to the lower gear to pull in traffic. On the highway the performance is decent, but, no natch to the Suzuki engine. Further, it gets harsh towards the final 10% of the power band. Then there is little bit of body roll, but the car remains well in control. I am sorry for being negative, but what I can do when these points are mentioned either at the beginning or end of the paras of the review. However, they also say that it has got crisp gearbox, precise steering & decent space inside.

All I can say that the it is a good car, but, certainly not the best in the class... & IMO pricey by almost Rs10-15K for the bottom variant.

Autocar review, IMO, has a very good opinion for Micra. This was the first review I read about the Micra, and I must admit, I am impressed.

About it being no match to K-series, this article says "the motor pulls all the way to 6800rpm, it’s no match to the top end of the Maruti’s four-cylinder K-series engine.." Now that is not proper comparison. Otherwise, I think, the article is all praise for the engine, handling and looks. Good start. For lazy ones, here are excerpts -

* First impressions are of a smooth motor that in some parts of the powerband feels as refined as a four- cylinder unit.
* What is also very impressive is the Micra’s ride quality. The suspension and tyres have plenty of compliance in them and rough sections and bad roads are all sponged up effortlessly. There’s very little bobbing, the suspension works silently and this allows you to drive over rough patches without a care. Very impressive.
* The front seats are very comfortable. At the back, headroom and legroom are surprisingly generous. The only grouse we have
with the rear seat is that it’s too low, flat and with little under-thigh support.
* The new Micra may not look wildly exciting but behind its cheerful, cute lines lies solid engineering and innovation.

Today We bench mark K series engine with everything available in market,But actually were we looking at all these few years back? Answer is no

Do we know what engine did Maruti 1000 or Alto came with? or for that matter Santro in 1999.

Looking at the posts, i would like to tell you all that you must look at it as a package or what you WANT !

Even the i10 does not have a great ride but overall package is good

Let the micra come out to the market and let BHPians give their feedback.

Am no nissan lover ,It was just my opnion

I couldn't quite make it out... Are those crows saying buy it? Or don't buy it?

As he says, it s just his first visual impression. He s far from making judgement.

On the looks department, i think we'll get used to it sooner and may be it'll not sound so grotesque

Can it not be a a show room car taken out possibly for fuelling? Companies generally stick to their announced dates.

After going through the recent picture which has been posted , also the overdriver video , car looks big and nice .

As per few top end will cost close to 6.20L onroad , which is 70K less than Polo highline .IMHO VW will surely feel the heat .

Definitely, both have similar engines and the Micra has more features.
But after sitting in both cars, I think the place Micra will really kill Polo is interior space. Sitting in a Polo feels incredibly cramped (for me, since I'm 6'1") and makes it almost impossible for anyone to sit behind me, because I have to move the seat all the way to the back.
In the Micra however, I have plenty of space to sit comfortably and allow the person behind me to be relatively comfortable as well. I think's its probably the largest car in the small hatch segment, except maybe the i20.
I did wonder if the steering wheel is slightly raised from other cars, as I didnt have to move my seat too far back to avoid my legs touching the wheel, or am I just imagining things?
