IMO,

For many car buyers, the brand loyalty starts with their first car purchase.. or the car that gave them more smiles. No matter what, buying decision is influenced by many factors. Brand loyalty is one of them.

Our family owns and owned cars from Maruti stable only. Two M800s in the past and currently, one Alto. Probably that's because they fit our budget and not brand loyalty. Another factor is Service technicians. My MASS technician at Erode is very well known to me and takes care of my car as his own car. It is hard to find friendly technicians now a days. One reason I chose Alto is this technician. I am mentally free from the any sort of service worries.

I would agree with you. Maruti alothough bought by many has its own share of drawbacks which people dont seem to let out.

I had a Brand new showroom 800 and in 2 weeks the left axel had to be replaced.

I have grown up around Ambassador and Fiat replaced by 800 and Zen replaced by Esteem and Palio and somehow, I just cant get over Fiat.

Its a pain in the After Sales Service division
A mirror takes a month and a half to get delivered
FE makes sure you don't miss any news about the Petroleum prices

But all said, I cant live without it!

But then again, I am also a Royal Enfield zealot - maybe I'm just masochistic!

I see many Fiat folks who are bullet lovers too.

My brand is only Maruti. No other name comes to my mind. Not even honda. I am considering here the quality, economy, service, reliability etc. My current Dzire is our 6th Maruti at our home after 3 M800, Zen & a Omni. We never faced any issues with all of them. Service is very good, spares are cheap & easily available, FE is really good, initial cost is also low, reliability of the car is really good. Considering all these factors, Maruti is no 1 in India. No body can beat them for sure.

I am inexplicably loyal to Mercedes Benz. Even though I have never nor will ever own one.

P.S. My next car in all probability will be a Toyota.

Like typeO, BMW does it for me...and probably I will never own one (atleast till I live in India)

But to be honest I am not inexplicably loyal to any brand (I have only really owned 2 cars in my life, a Tata and a Mazda) and none of those buys were results of brand loyalty.

I do favour and like certain brands (not considering exotics) more than others though e.g Fiat (yeah), Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura, etc

My next vehicle in all probability will be a Tata/Mahindra

being a consumer fromt he indian market and considering cars for use in india, it has to be maruti, hyundai, toyota and mercedes. wish skoda/vw after sales service was more organised though. mentioned each brand from each segment.
