re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

Good photoshop mod job. I am afraid that M&m will spoil the sport by offering an underpowered engine and high pricing

These are too many changes to make economic sense as sharing of parts with Xylo would then be minimal.
Another rumour is that they may use Logan's Diesel engine.
But how does the 1500 cc engine help in a better pricing? The vehicle should be less than 4m in length + should have a < 1.2L engine [petrol] or a < 1.4L engine [Diesel] to make it eligible for excise cuts.

So how can the 1.5L dCi engine [logan] also help in this regard ?

^^ The excise cuts for diesel engines are applicable till 1.5L. The mini Xylo will use a 3 cylinder m-Hawk engine.

Mahindra may outsource the engine ( if they do not have a suitable one from their own stable) instead of tinkering with its existing range of engines. I am sure there are a number of good engines with decent power and torque output in sub-1.5 l category.

Ashutosh ..thats quite an aggressive looking vehicle . Hope Mahindra learn some designing cues from you to create another good looking vehicle from Xylo platform.

@ajay0612 had told that the mini-Xylo is a 5+2 seater, but didn't knew that it was confirmed so much as to change the thread title.
Maan, M&M is surely turning the wish of many Inians into true.
Only hope the price stays true to sub 5 lacs. Or at the worst even sub 6 lacs.

Change of the thread title makes me wishful for the 5+2! Agreed with the above post, the price will play the main part.

I somehow find it hard to believe that the 5 plus 2 seater mini xylo, will be below 5 lacs with all the bells and whistles the current xylo has to offer.
The top variant should be somewhere 7 according to me. but mahindra has always been known for intelligent pricing, so this one is definitely worth the wait.

i dont think it will look the like the genio. It will be same as the current xylo with some cosmetic changes.

Nope , @DMehta, the Genio shows us how the mini-xylo and FL xylo will look like.
Also we can hope the price will be under 6 lacs surely 'cos they don't want any overlap with the full size Xylo and it's mini variant.

Priced intelligently and with roomy interiors thisw would create a new category of its own.

Re: Mini Xylo- 5 Seater, Under 4m, >1500cc

How come there are no windows (quarter glass at least) for the 3rd row, if it is a 5+2 seater ?

There is a 3rd glass (smaller) and it isn't a 5+2 as of now. Only jumpseats can be accomodated if at all. From what I know it was quick, so it was still running the M-Eagle. But there could be multiple models undergoing testing.

If there are 2 jump seats, it would be a tight fit and result in compromising the legroom. IMHO, it would be better they stay at 5 seats as that would be the target segment. Customers with higher seating requirements can go for the normal sized version.
