Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

240 NM at a staggering 1600 rpm, this could be a hoot to drive! To give a fair idea, the Innova's engine produces 200 NM. And the mini Xylo will be much lighter too! I can see the advantages of bi-turbo already.

Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

It seems Autocar india is "Official" scoop source for Mini Xylo (See the first post in this thread.)
Only question remains now is ride and handling.
Handling becomes more important now since engine expected to delivers this massive (in relative terms) amount of power and torque.

Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

Found this pic on yahoo.co.in homepage on some lame slide show indicating the upcoming MPVs.
Not sure if this has been put up any where on the thread. Gives a good look from the rear 3 quarters. It looks just about ok. But given that the xylo is such a tall boy, making it look ok is in itself a commendable job by Mahindra.

I may end up buying this, and plonk in the alloys right away.

I have had a nice ownership with my Xylo (full size) thus far. Hope the younger sibling does not disappoint

This looks like the base variant... On some nice tyres and alloys, this can be made to look decent, not a head turned though. But the real stuff is under the hood - 240 NM!

The lightest Innova weighs in at about 1575 kg (max kerb weight for the petrol version). I remember that the Xylo checks in at around 1900 kg. Even considering the reduction in the chassis and the weight of the engines and the tires, do you think they can pare down around 350 kgs

On the other hand I just hope that they were able to do it and are able to get it down to around 1300 kgs.

Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

I've seen the car myself in sept 2011, but at that time there was no news of this twin turbo version. As my dad is now far from bangalore, I don't get the latest news. Maybe, I think this version only remains exclusive for the Top end version. And i remember a xylo mini doing almost 180Kmph on the mysore road, and guess what, the speedo's max speed is 180Kmph itself.

Why compare a petrol Innova to a diesel Xylo?

Anyways, the current Xylo weighs 1830 kgs. Even if we assume about 25% weight reduction only, still the mini Xylo would weigh around 1370 kgs.

Well, I was only trying to find the Innova with the least kerb weight. Even with the 1.8 tonne mass, the mEagle did a very good job with acceleration, so we can hope the new one is much better.

Whatever be the weight reduction, I only hope they did it in such a way that the weight distribution front & rear is not compromised.

Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

It seems the Mini-Xylo could hit the Indian roads well before the Ecosport does so, if the news in today's Pune edition of ToI is to be believed. Jacob Varghese, senior general manager-sales of west zone — who was in the city to launch new Verito —told reporters that the company is working on its hatchback car models and compact Xylo. The company is keen to launch the new models during the August-December period.

Re: Mahindra Testing sub-4 meter XYLO. EDIT : Fresh PICS on Page 38

I see this car being tested every other day on the Igatpuri-Nashik highway and the pace at which it is driven faintly hints at it being the new torque king. Yes the car doesn't look upmarket at all(hope the market ready product is better finished), styling is very similar to that of Rio and the engine is bit clattery from outside .But for the price of 6 lakhs its should be a great deal.

It's a good move to launch the vehicle before Eco - sport.
Once the Eco sport is launched they can play according to the pricing and special offers etc.

Scan of this Month's Autocar cover. It covers Xylo Mini exclusively - it is also mentioned that the xylo mini is a 7 seater.
