I dont think Fiat will name this as the Uno though.Although brand recall is high,i guess with its tainted history Fiat would not want any memories.

It can be called 'Nuno' short for New Uno. Tata can then sell nano and nuno

We had the old Uno diesel.. it was a lovely car and a rocking engine
only thing that went against it was the super soft suspension

I still remember when the UNO was launched, we paid about 10k and blocked the car. Finally we pulled out due to various reasons and the money was refunded in full. That's when our first relationship began with FIAT. Later we bought the Palio.

Indeed this is a very ironic and touching statement

Quote:
The move is tinged with irony because the Palio was introduced in 1999 as a substitute for Uno.
Somehow I find the new UNO design totally unimpressive, especially when we are looking at a car that is supposed to replace the Palio which is way above its peers in terms of design. Its a real let down !

Looks more of a modifyed ALto from the front, specially due to the headlight design.

Stole my words mate!

IMO if this car is ever launched, it would be the ugliest looking car. I can't imagine this is car from the makers of Linea and Punto. (It's like trying a desi tharra after scotch)

Perhaps it wouldn't look that bad if the grill is changed. Any photoshop-pros listening?

Fist should learn reducing weight of the car (some of what may be unwanted for small cars). This is the reason, competitively equipped Punto lags behind the Swift in intra-city performance.

Regarding the latest Uno, I do not think this is as bad some of the iterations that the automotive world has offered, if it does its job well, can manage the numbers for Fiat, it would be good for not only Fiat, but, also for the enthusiasts, & we can then expect bolder moves (~ new/better/international models) from Fiat.

You can add my vote to that train of thought.
The car looks very plain, boring, and even just a little bit ugly.
Not like the mini-cayenne Punto.
