^^ Not every EPS system has poor feedback. Those who have driven the new Superb will agree with me on this.

The EPS in Swift is very well calibrated, its even better than a lot of HPS systems. The EPS in Ritz is even better. The only hatchbacks which have better steering than Ritz/Swift are Punto and Figo.

Similarly the EPS in ANHC is much better than the one in NHC which had Playstation like feel. Its better than the HPS unit in Hyundai Verna.

The Alto1.1 was another and so was the M800-5speed, whose performance I have seen on track and on city roads. There are other cars, but since they dont meet the 5-lakh criteria, no use bringing them here.
You missed the fact about the Zen being discontinued long back while we were discussing cars which are very much sold this day in the market!

Oh wait, are you talking about the Zen Estilo?

Guess BS VI is the reason.

Yea, Ex-showroom price can be the criteria for selection.(< 5L)
Because OTR prices are abnormally high in places like bangalore.

My vote for Astar as I reckon its the cheapest drivers car. I'm extremely satisfied as a self drive customer with its steering feedback and road holding capabilities. Sometimes makes me wonder what a bomb it would be if it had the 1.2 L Kseries.

Considering only the cars sold today, it has to be the swift Diesel.

For me, if it is a drivers' car, it has to be Swift DDIS. Hence, voted for the same.

surprisingly we have no-one nominating the car
which looks mean and sporty. i meant the chevy Beat.
I had great expectations from the car after seeing that funky rpm/ speedo console.

Is the car only looks ?

Can someone explain why Polo is not in the race, Not that I would want to vote for it, But I would like it to have a healthy chance.

Is it that Polo owners dont think is a drivers car etc.

Guess when the polo 1.6 is launched in august
it might well be a great driver's car.
But i'm sure it will not sport a sub 5 Lakh price.(ex-show)

It has to be the Swift - no two ways about it. However choosing between the Petrol and Diesel is much tougher

Voted for Swift 1.2 Petrol with K12M unit.
A-star would have won my vote if Swift was absent from the list. But Swift is one of the best around. I hope the new Swift carries forward the same character.

Figo comes close, but loses due to poor performance. The competition has moved on quite a bit in the 1.2L segment.

Does the Figo diesel retail under 5lakhs ?

I like the A-star and it would make a nice city compact, but not sure if it can be called a driver's car.

Sorry. I guess it was the word "funny" in your post.

Agree that this thread is about cars in the market today, but my reply was to your post "I think Swift was the first from Maruti to have ever come close to something called FTD!". I just said that Swift was not the 1st FTD Maruti. Anyway, this is OT for this thread.

Yes, a neat driver's car under 5lakhs.

+1.
Voted for Swift 1.2 since there is actually no real fight in this sigment.
The competitors are anaemic and "senior citizen"-friendly.

Why isn't the Palio Stile 1.6 not included in the poll.

It is still the best hot hatch in India.
