Re: Gen2 Suzuki Swift, EDIT:Caught testing in India, Pics on Pg.15

The new swift headlamps have simply overgrown the car of this size, especially since the bonnet has not been lengthened by much. Add to that losing at least 100L of boot space with the dzire, not sure how it will be received.

Of course the Maruti trust factor will make sure it doesnt totally bomb on the market.

Re: Next gen Swift Dzire is <4 meter length

From the picture, it looks like a spoiler has been stuck to the Swift! Where is the boot space?

Re: Next gen Swift Dzire is <4 meter length

I really dont know why Maruti is trying this. DZire is doing extremely well right now since its launch. Even after launch of Etios & Manza also its sales are at top. In fact last 3-4 months its doing almost 10K per month. That is great in itself. So why to change?

After the recent news of Japan's slowdown in Auto industry after Tsunami, Toyota will suffer heavily to deliver large numbers of Etios. It will again benefit DZire mainly.

In the photo the model looks quite sporty to me

It really looks much better compared to the current Dzire though I really don't know why should one buy a Dzire and not a Swift plus a covered overhead luggage carrier

Re: Gen2 Suzuki Swift, EDIT:Caught testing in India, Pics on Pg.15

Guys now tell me whats the point of a 2.5 box car ! Why cant people just live with a Hatch? Its a good job done by Maruti with the integration of the boot but the concept of the car seems silly to me.
Indians buy 3 box cars for the status it offers (thats the assumption behind the crazy sales of the Dzire) and will a 2.5 Box which is about the size of the hatch add any status for the average Joe ?

Actually the new Dzire(judging by the scoop pic) doesn't look all that bad, when compared to the current car.It has a better stance and looks more proportionate.

Maruti got the idea of tata (Read CS)

Now maruti stables can be as below:-

1) SWIFT
2) SWIFT Refresh
3)DZIRE
4) DZIRE Refresh
5) DZIRE CS

and goes on.

Different car for different budget.

Have till now only been hearing about the DZire CS. Is the DZire refresh also being planned?

Re: Gen2 Suzuki Swift, EDIT:Caught testing in India, Pics on Pg.15

Actually better looking than the current D'zire. That's some good stuff. Would be curious to see what is the boot space left to call it a 3 box sedan!

But if the production begins by year end, that means Maruti will continue selling current DZire along with new Swift in meanwhile.

Cheers!

Guys,

Not sure why this happening, the thread is about Swift Gen 2. The Dzire discussion is happening in a seperate thread in the link given below.

Request you to continue your discussion about the Dzire in this thread..
We shal stick to Gen2 here..

Wait to see Etios D launching - you will know why Maruti is doing all these. Mahindra Verito launch as per the news cited in a different thread is bang on to Swift VDi ABS bracket [5.56L Ex showroom, Delhi]. Expect Etios's one or two variants to be in the very same bracket. As of now Dzire LDi starts around 5,85,xxx Ex. Showroom Delhi. With the size reduced, the report is they could cut down upto 30,000/- which can bring down the prices to 5,55,000/-.

Correction here.

1) SWIFT
2) SWIFT Refresh
3)DZIRE
4) DZIRE Refresh = 5) DZIRE CS

So the CS version is the actual refresh for Dzire.

Re: Next gen Swift Dzire is <4 meter length

The compact Sedan version of Dzire looks much better at stance than the current version of the dzire. My father is pretty much interested in buying Dzire, every time it passes he asks me about the mileage which model is this petrol or diesel and my sister seating at the rear makes faces as she is not a fan of Dzires boot. So going by pictures in this forum it looks way better than current one. As he is in no hurry to buy one if it is launched within this year should be able to convince my sister
