Hahaha. That is exactly the way Maruti designs its Sedans ! Adobe Photoshop.
But on a serious note, i doubt this new design will lend itself well to a boot integration. When you look at the Polo, its easy to understand why the Vento looks proportionate, its the original design that lends itself to another bodystyle. The Swift doesnt !

If the new Swift is launched with an AT then we will know Maruti is finally listening. I'm not too fond of the looks just yet, but there's plenty of time for it to grow on me

I doubt maruti will launch it with AT.Their plan i guess is to offer the A-star with AT although a Swift or a Wagon-r makes more sense. These 2 models have already high sales,so they want to push the sales of A-star and make it the only choice in the Maruti stable if you want the AT

I don't see why they can't launch both with AT. They'll ruin the i10 from either end with that. Or maybe the i10 will still hold it's own.

Very commendable effort Sid.
As usual, anything about Maruti is equated to 25 yr old 800 (at least I could sense by reading comments of some friends here)

I don't think it's because of fesi car. Then the same "cheap" car treatment should go to Tata cars and Logan.
But people drool over an army trunk box car like Tata Manza.
The saying about Tata cars are " Either the car will take it with you for good after 3 yrs" or "Owner has to chuck it out"

One thing I fail to understand. All these Marutis, Tatas have Fiat engines. But why always these fiat engines get a bashing when compared to Palio/Punto/Linea engines?
Or is it that the fiat engines for Marutis and Tatas are of low qulaity? Not sure whether a Fiat stoop to that level.

It's just that Maruti are leaders now. If tomw, Honda or Hyundai or Tata overtakes them we'll try to bring them down saying "Oh Maruti cars were sooooo good".

Whoever is excelling, we love bringing them down because we can't reach that level. (Not true for Maruti cars though )

Any idea when the new swift is expected in india?

Had booked a red swift Zxi a couple of months ago and is due for delivery anytime now. Should I wait? Should I go ahead with the delivery?

Please advise. You can PM me.

scoopmaster, can we expect you to release a sketch of the new dzire if you so possess it? this will be of unique interest to see how they get rid of current styling.

The new dzire wont be out until 2012/13 at the earliest given MSIL's 5 year minimum current product cycle. And members, I request you to kindly refrain asking me questions like this:

There are some things like these which are not meant to be discussed in public and you know that many companies are watching this with eagle eye. For some reasons, I have cut down on my posts here because I myself do not have any answers.

Please only ask questions based on a particular product which physically exists.

Looks the same to me...on one hand I'm disappointed but on the other hand, am relieved- look what they did to the poor Zen

Something tells me the 2011 doesn't have enough to hold its own against the Polos,i20s and Micras in easily the hottest segment of the market today. Maybe if they toss in an AT and stretch the boot (a la Jazz- for God's sake, not another D'zire ) then customers may see value in it.

Depends on your situation. If you are having one vehicle and looking for upgrade, please wait. If you are looking for a second car and can manage to wait, please do so.

I feel it is worth waiting, as many accessories/ features in the current swift (once a forerunner in the segment) are becoming obsolate. It may be upsetting to see the new one on the next day you have bought the current one.

I am waiting any way.
