It's a nice looking car with some updated features - although I doubt it shall be a class defining car the way the original was half a decade ago. Kudos to Maruti for continuing to maintain their over 40% market share in India. However, I think in the later years it has been more because of the A.S.S. network rather than their quality. You compare a Swift Dzire with a similarly prized Indigo Manza and you see the Manza is miles ahead in pretty much every department. The foreign players and the Indian ones are continuously improving the quality of their servicing as well as widening their network. Suzuki will continue to me a major player in the Indian market but I doubt if it will retain its stranglehold for a lengthy period of time.

Ok kind of an update to a legend...

If I was in the market for a car in this segment, I would pick up this one just for that engine! What a gem... A high revving K Series! Wow!!!

I wonder whats stopping them from making similar 1.6+ litre engines. A similar 1.6 litre engine should stomp out approx 124bhp!!!

Then throw in an FFE, HKS Mushroom Air Filter & an RD ECU... Now I am just getting carried away...

Imagine what that would do to their SX4 sales in India...

Of course not. We'll get a 'toned down' or 'eco' version haha. Horrible plastic, with horrible switch gear, a nice 'toned down' engine with about 80PS of power. What else? Thinner tires, lower grade paint and finish. That should keep the government happy. We Indians always get the short end of the stick. But I guess we can just count our blessings

The exteriors are an evolution , nothing great though .
I love the new interiors . They look much better than the current edition .
How would the new Dzire look ?

Hey Sid thanks for the detailed info and pics, really interesting stuff. My personal take is that though overall the new swift looks good, it seems to have lost some of its individuality. Hope there are options for more powerful engines

The car looks brilliant. The built in ICE is really classy. The interiors took a major face lift.

I have my doubt on how the interior will be if this car in launched in India? I have never been an happy customer as far as the quality of plastic used inside the car since few year's now... Review is really great but shape from behind is also a matter of concern for me at-list.

Sid, Great work as usual! As you said the changes seem evolutionary. I'm sure any improvement in ride quality, damping settings and rear leg space will be welcomed by all. But whenever Maruti announces a new model I have a sinking feeling that it will not be a well built and well bolted together car, after my experience with Swift. Maruti, please, please prove me wrong this time and give us a car that will inspire confidence on the rough roads.

Hey nice point King. The thing make nervous that they may change the dimension too (to get excise cut). Interiors may remain same but quality wont. The one thing probably they can do, is to sale new swift along with the old one. And new swift should be re-badged a swift-premium. It can be priced slightly lower than I20.

Excellent work sid, as always,

The new one seems much improved than the existing, with the elongated wheelbase and those interiors, it would work wonders for MUL in India, it is sure to be a huge hit similar to the current model.

Also, In one of the pics, I see a Engine start/stop button, seems this has started becoming a norm with all Car manufacturers.

No need to change dimensions to get excise benefit for this new Swift, because its length is 3850mm - well under the 4000mm limit.

Me too think like that. And they can slightly modify the current Swift by removing the extra bulge in the front and rear wheel arches, and make it OK for first time buyers and also for the customers looking for 'sleeker' cars!

"Suzuki Europe Reveal Price For New Suzuki Swift

Suzuki Europe reveal the prices of the new Swift, which is available from September 1 and in some european countries the dealers to get brochures and price lists this week and Customer can order the presale period (until August 31) from now.
Suzuki Swift, at first will got 1242 cc petrol engine of 94 hp and 118 Newton meter (top speed 165 km / h and 0-100 in 12.3 seconds), but the Japanese still so nice and clean and efficient the average consumption is 5.0 liters and CO2 emissions come at 116 grams. This is just what Puff the environment friendly than almost all competitors.
Besides, the price you do not have to order a new Swift. For 10,999 euros . You will get the 3-door Base model . There is also a Comfort version (12.799 euros) and offers the most luxurious Exclusive (14.199 euros). The five-door models of the Swift is not available as Base. The Comfort (13.299 euros) the basis and the Exclusive 15,499 euros Both models can be supplied at extra cost 2,000 euros a 4-speed automatic (instead of a five-speed manual transmission).

Maruti would surely launch it at the current price, going by all their previous launches ! Must be already giving others sleepless nights
