Mitsubishi RVR coming to India

I believe this car is going to be launched in the USA as the Outlander Sport.

Edit: Since the Outlander was launched in the highest trim, hope they do the same with the RVR.

Given the Duster which is a low cost, barebones and utilitarian SUV everywhere in the world, in a different class from other offerings can sell out at 12-14 lakhs OTR, it is a tad unrealistic to expect the mini Outlander which is a modern design with up to date levels refinement to be 10-12 lakhs.

It will probably start in the 15 lakhs segment as autocar reports.

Mitsubhishi has 2 products which are sure shot winners if brought down to India. 1 would be the new Lancer to compete with the City, Verna, etc. and 2 would be the RVR BUTTTT with a diesel (which is the current market need.) This mini Outlander is a good looking SUV (what cannot be said about any other SUV below 20L) and with the right pricing strategy and the oh so important diesel engine, this can revive the Mitsu brand from extinction in India.

Also with the current addiction in the Indian market for mini SUVs or crossovers or posers, now is the best time for Mitsu to plan and bring this one here asap to compete with the likes of the Duster, XUV, Ecosport, etc.

I think even if they plan to bring here to India it will be CBU and parts and other stuffs will be expensive.
