Fiat is getting accepted for even first timers. However, I still see people around who run halter scalter when if comes to owning a Fiat.

Don't blame them. Having owned a Palio it should be a natural progression to upgrade to a Punto or Linea. However, the build quality of Punto/Linea and the repeated problems faced by the owners don't give me the confidence to choose a car from the Fiat stable. Why should I accept niggles and QC issues after I have spent close to 7-8 lacs on a car. Same situation is with Tata.

All this while, we've been asking for more power from the Punto. Now that she finally has 90 stock horses, I'm seeing comments against the price (we really are difficult to please, aren't we ). C'mon guys, ignore the damn price. This is not a car you buy with the head as much as you do with the heart. Who cares even if its 50 - 75K too expensive?

Punto + Linea Turbo + Petes = 100 BHP .

+ 1 to that. This combination will be a dream come true. We are getting power , ride , handling and a FIAT
What we forget is the proverb "pay peanuts, get monkeys" I would say even a 50K premium would be fine for what FIAT is offering.

From Motoroids:- Would I buy it? Probably I would wait for a more rev-happy Punto 1.4 T-jet to come along!
So now does that mean, that Punto 1.4 T-jet is also on cards??..good enough reason for the thread to run-in pages after pages.

Will the gearbox/transmission be able to handle that much torque/power ?

According to Petes' website, the figures for Punto and Linea are 90 bhp/215 nm and 102 bhp/220 nm respectively. Where did you get your figures from? :S

If im not mistaken autocar had mentioned that there were no plans for the 1.4 T-jet in the punto, FIAT thought the car wouldn't sell. Apparently it was on the cards for the linea this year but no news as of yet.

According to ACI, the gearbox/transmission is the same in the punto and linea, so its built to handle 90 hp at the least. So 100 hp should be fine i guess

the psi website, the brand that makes the tuning boxes. the power figures mentioned by me are of the +1 setting on the tuning boxes.
