Also, look at the gearbox itself
Are you really getting those Tiptronic gears as shown in the pics attached with an AT Scorpio?

The article in the link only talks about shifters. This company only makes shifters and not the whole automatic transmission. The transmission is supplied by another Australian vendor now acquired by Geely automotive.

OK. Got an updated story from the dealer on the Production stoppage. Apparently, M&M was trying to batch production and pile up enough Automatic requests before running a bacth of Automatics - not sure if that makes Manufacturing sense - I am not a specialist on that.

Anyway, my friend got his Scorpio Automatic in 3 weeks from booking - he was told Oct 31st but got it on Sep 30th itself!! So that makes another Automatic Scorpio in the office parking lot.

Price has gone up 1.1L since I purchased in Feb 2010!!!! (thanks in part to the tax increase in Tamil Nadu). He does not have an alloy for a spare!! Also, they now have only white and black as colour options. They are not offering my java brown any more.

Congrats.

Can you confirm if the gear box has been changed as discussed before?

Do you mind sharing the price info?

I don't believe anything has been changed on the AT.

Stupid question:

Is it possible to change the gear lever or at least the gear knob for the auto shifter? Is the knob compatible with the common manual shifter knobs?

Judging by the thickness of the gear lever rod, I don't think the gear knob can be swapped with the after-market ones.

I'm planning to get the knob stitched with leather, solely for aesthetic purpose. Otherwise the knob looks as if its suffering from rickets.
