I was reading an article on Automotive X-Prize, and I noticed a small thumbnail of cars preparing in Automotive X-Prize knockout race. What caught my eye was headlight, the only portion visible of a car which I thought was Indica.

Then it struck me that Tata was participating in this competition... and following are the two pictures of Indica participating in X-prize which I have managed to find on Internet.

That looks like the vista electric..

134MPG is a very good number. Tata stands third in the list. But Tata is the only major Automaker to participate in the competition.

Simply a great feat.

Internally I don't know but externally this version's bumpers, headlamps, fenders, rocker panel etc are obviously different / new. I have attached Indica Vista EV picture for comparison.

Will that spoiler be available after market for the regular vista?

yes, and those gorgeous smoked headlights and the skirting. Why don't Tata Motors kit out regular Vistas? It sure will help Vista set sales charts afire.

Looking at the spoke less design of the wheel and no radiator grille made me too think that this is a electric car and in the last picture looking at the engine it looks like an electric motor as well

Found some more pictures, check out how the have modified the tail light. I actually like these tail light more than those on the production vehicle.

Very happy to see Tata participating in this. Winning or not, doesn't matter - what matters is the spirit to participate in events like this.

Now train your service technicians, and there is none to beat you in India at least!

@anmol : it not a new brake light its the same brake light just that its half covered by the spoiler

I know it is not new, that is why I used the world "modified".
