30k more expensive! i am sure it would be another nail in Jazz's coffin! If I were shopping for a hatch, I would surely buy i20 CRDi for that cost rather than Jazz.

Update from the dealer

I am currently considering to buy the Jazz.
Got some information from the dealer which looks to be authentic.
Jazz X will have the following addons -
  • Fog lamps
  • Driver seat Height adjust
Plus, the features in the Select model which are -
  • Alloy wheels
  • Rear parcel tray
  • Mudflaps
I guess Honda can't drastically reduce the price of the Jazz, so they are trying to offer more goodies at only a nominal price increase.
First, they launched the Jazz Select at an additional cost of 10K which has got Alloys,Rear parcel tray and mudflaps over the Jazz base
Then they are launching the Jazz X at an additional price of 10K above the Select model with fog lamps and Driver's seat height adjust.
Obviously, suffice to say that this won't help much in increasing the sales of the Jazz.
But with the huge discounts going on currently, expect the Jazz sales to increase substantially from 200 odd to nearly 1000!

I guess Ex Show Room price of regular version in Delhi is 7.11 lakhs. So "X" version will be about 34 k more than regular version.

Features that appeal to me are USB Port, gun metal alloy wheels and parcel tray.

I asked the local dealership and they are still not aware of this upcoming version. Thanks for regular scoops and update Sid. You are indeed Unlike any other.

The Jazz Select already costs Rs. 8.88Lakhs on road Bangalore. They are giving free insurance and some other discounts even then it is around 8.5L. This will be the first petrol hatch above 9L looks like when the Jazz X comes out.

No way its not "another nail" but another hundred nails. Honda didn't learn the lesson yet.

Honda City will also face the same fate if Vento and Eteos launch with sensible features and pricing.

Honda Jazz is greatly overpriced but Honda charges a premium because people pay a premium.

What many forget is that Honda is coming out with another small car. If Jazz is priced less, There will be a gap between City and Jazz and the low-end car will have a lesser price margin to play with.

This is coming from an Anti-Honda guy whose family just purchased a Jazz. Excellent and well thought product which is seriously well built and worth the extra price but not what is charged for it.

My two cents.
