The Rapid was launched at the Grand Hyatt Goa this evening... Official Pricing not out as yet...

Hey, nice pics there.

The rapid will sure take some, getting used to look at. With the so familiar Fabia face, it looks very obvious that a 3rd box is a last minute addition by the designers.
(similar in the case of the swift dezire, looked like the designers were in a hurry!).

In contrast, the vento looks like a very subtle transition from a hatch into a sedan.

Just IMO.

Rapid definitely looks great and the front shouts skoda. The hood is not very long. Although the front and the Head lights is Fabia, it is broader than fabia and so easy to identify. Looks skoda class and hope it is VFM in this segment.
Pity that the showrooms are still aurguing with me that the new car from Skoda is Lauretta and not Rapid (Yesterday).

Most Skodas are boxey. This looks like a shrunken Superb. But i agree ,the vento looks like a natural sedan. Does the Diesel Rapid come with AT ?

Rapid is the name and girlish face, dont go well. The name lauretta was much better.

Do the engine specs justify the name RAPID ?

Going by the photos, the designers have been lazy. The creases on the bonnet and those on the side do not feel like they are from the same car! The ORVMs do not match the design language of the front and rear. Look out of place. The front 3 quarter profile looks like the Vento and Fabia have been in bed together! And like F150 says, the name is Rapid and the car has a girlish face!

However, all said and done, it will sell well probably if it is significantly cheaper than the Vento!

IMHO Rapid looks more Bolder than Vento from front. Also the interiors carry the richness of Vento. I feel it is a good combo and is going to be hit in the segment. If auto in diesel, so much better. Vento has no chance.
