Is that because he has to wait until October to get the car, or is FIAT really in that kind of trouble?

Fiat-India has already decided to phase out the Palio. The existing and old stocks have been cleared out. Fiat-India is manufacturing the Palios in limited numbers. Made to order, hence they are setting expectations of 2-3 months.

I hear Fiat was selling old stock SLXs for Rs3.9 and SDX for Rs4.5 approx. each.

2008 stock? What were the cars used for until then? Just abandoned in the lot?

Some queries for my understanding.
If a car is phased out and stocks cleared, why manufacture in limited quantities?
With out knowing the condition or where the car was for 2 years how can you spend 3-4 lacs on a car?
A car lying in the stock unused for 2 years would have turned to a pure lemon, right?

This is something we all fail to understand. Why is Fiat doing a made to order Palios when it comes to a phased out model. Are they going that extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction or they have something else on mind, dont know! The attached email confirms the fact that limited nos of Palios will be manufcatured.

The aircon and battery are first things that come to my mind for a car unused for 2 years. I am sure the dealership would intervene and fix any issues. A thorough PDI from dealership along with tbhp check list should be good enough to certify that the car is good or a lemon. Again, it could be a very good option instead of buying a used car.

We are going a bit off topic here. The best place to continue this discussion would be on the thread : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...4-2-lakhs.html

Please can someone provide the link to specifications and features available in Multijet SDX and Also is the offer still running in Bangalore

I think, the time is right to fulfill wifey's demand for a new car and pocket 1.5 Lakhs.

Was thinking where the money will come from for my Scorpio upgrade to 4x4

Regards

The brochure was available on Fiat-India website for a long time. For some reason, the brochure doesnt open or get downloaded most of the time from their site. It can be found at Fiat India . If it doesnt open fine, please let me know. I have a saved copy of it.

The oroiginal colors stated in manual arent available. Available colors are mentioned in this thread. Yes, bookings are still open in Bangalore.

^^ 2010 manufactured Palio Stiles are not available for booking for SD or SDE models. Only the SDZ is available. Similarly on petrol variants, only SLX is available. Refer to this email: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...tile-offer.pdf

Wow...That sure is a tempting price.

However, feel sad to see a good car coming to the end of its life cycle.

I guess the writing was on the wall for the Palio for a while as all attention was on the Punto.

If this article Fiat Palio 2011 coming to Auto Expo in India | Indian Cars & Motorcycles Blog were to be true, many many Fiat/Palio lovers will be very happy. I really hope to see a re-launch.

Do any one know whats happening on this front with Fiat?
