Driving at 70MPH and losing engine power is ofcourse a serious safety issue. Your thoughts! Surprisingly BMW is not recalling any of those models. Anyone who says atleast they have the guts to recall please take a look at this link.

BMW isn't selling the 335i and the 535i in India, so I doubt this applies to those who bought the cars in India.

Weren't both the 335i and 535i launched here?

BMW is not selling the 335i in India but it does sell the 535i. The 330i is being sold here as well.

I believe the problems were with the E60 535i, which BMW did not sell in India.
I would hope they fixed the issue in the newer model.

Well, there's another reason to buy the locally assembled 530d over the CBU-imported 535i :D. On a serious note though, this is of little relevance to India as the 535i is only a showroom trophy with its stratospheric price.

WASHINGTON — BMW is recalling 6,080 2010-'11 5 Series and 5 Series Gran Turismo vehicles because of a faulty fuel level sensor, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The vehicles were built from January 12 through July 1, 2010.
"The vehicle's fuel level sensor within the fuel tank can become wedged against the tank," said NHTSA in its recall summary of the problem. "If this occurs, the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster would display a larger amount of fuel than was actually in the tank. As a result, if the tank became empty, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash."
BMW has not yet provided NHTSA with a remedy plan and notification schedule for the recall. Owners can contact BMW at (800) 525-7417.
