No question about whether the product is untried or untested. My point is that no one knows for sure when and what exactly is being launched. Different states, cities, and dealers seem to have different takes on pricing and availability.
Of course, being tried and tested elsewhere does not mean that we get the what everywhere else is getting anyway. The 1.2 versions themselves have shown us that. Even the Vento elsewhere and what we are(nt) getting here are two different sets of specs. So, I am not holding out for any pleasant surprises.
When VW showed their India spec Polos was the time I was disappointed once and for all with their offering.

Maybe at a later date ???? As with the 1.2 polos ...i distinctly remember the petrol being launched around a couple of months before the diesel. Perhaps could be something like that ( ofcourse im being over optimistic here)
Or are you sure that the diesel hatch is out of the reckoning ?

Pricing for 1.6 is around 6.16 lakhs. Based on that, it is possible to extrapolate. I haven't got the precise Bangalore price from my dealer either.

1.2 3 cylinder UK spec is 60 PS or 70 PS compared to 75 PS here. So in what way do you feel short-changed?

If its for the bells and whistles then I agree they could have added some more for the price.

I agree, delivery of any VW is a BIG question mark right now.

Will check on the 1.6 diesel once more. I haven't heard them even mention it once for the Polo but for sure that's what is on the Vento.

Yes, a small review will help quench the thirst of eager enthusiasts here. After all, the Polo 1.6 is the most anticipated 'hot hatch' after the Palio 1.6.

Definitely a first on Team BHP! Congratulations vvvinod & your friend.

There is no mistaking the oleander flowers. The Polo 1.6 has reached Bangalore!

Is the price after Insurance NCB as well?

Look forward to your friend's review. This is from VW Downtown right?

Vow... finally another hot hatch unleashes itself. This also means that VW downtown is not providing correct information to prospective customers ? It is not inspiring much confidence from a customers point of view.

Well vvvinod congrats to your friend hope he is on tbhp, awaiting a review.

Isn't this the first real "hot hatch"? for all the rest, with 0-100 around 14 or 15 seconds, it is not a reality, just marketing hot air.
