The price range is OTR Nagpur-
Petrol
4-6: Hyundai i20 Asta
6-8: Polo 1.6
8-10: Linea T-Jet
10-15: Skoda Laura TSI
20-25: Skoda Superb
Diesel
4-6: Ford Figo Titanium
6-8: Hyundai i20 CRDI
8-10: Volkswagen Vento
10-15: Chevrolet Cruze
15-20: Tata Aria
20-30: BMW 320D
I feel there is no good petrol car in 15-20 range.

Price range in Gurgaon (boy is it cheap here!!!)

4-6 : VW Polo 1.2 Highline
6-8 : Sx4 Zxi (i got mine below 8l)
8-10 : Honda City V AT
10-15 : Honda Civic
15-20 : Skoda Superb MT
20-25 : BMW 3 series CE (may have to stretch a lac or so)

Would opt like this. Although I feel Laura wouldn't fit the bill due to relative higher maintenance compared to others.

Assumptions : Prices are on-road price. These are my personal views.
0-2 Lac : Used Alto K10
2-4 Lac : Alto K10
4-6 Lac : Ford Figo (D)
6-8 Lac : Punto 90HP/EcoSport
8-10 Lac : Linea T-Jet/EcoSport
10-12 Lac : Vento (D)/Duster
12-15 Lac : XUV500
15-18 Lac : Yeti
18-20 Lac : Superb
20-25 Lac : Outlander
25-30 Lac : Volvo S60/Santa Fe
30 Lac+ : All Cars look "best" to me.
