I guess these are ex showroom prices Delhi ! The pricing seems quite competitive, only hitch I foresee is availability of Vento's.
The sedan market is now hotting up and now Honda City & SX4 has some real competition .

This pricing makes it the most eligible small sedan on indian roads...excellent entry!

Good one there!! Very good competition now!

The prices have been officially declared by VW. Read the prices 25 minutes ago in Facebook.

Interesting development in this segment after a long gap. Not much of a difference between the vento and the city except for the entry level though so wonder what is the hue and cry about city getting hit etc esp since its evenly matched with the rest especiall the diesel pricing. I think it should wean away more of the buyers who were seeking a choice and cannot stretch to the city and wanted more options amongst the rest, though a section of city sales may get affected too. Clearly a big option created for the diesel sedan buyer.
Should have also seen the Fiat Linea and the Fiesta in the comparison which are also prime candidates for being hit on the sales charts IMO.
Lets see what really happens to the competition rather than predict. As seen in the past, this can also create a new section of buyers who are waiting for a more contemporary option than the other dated sedans.

AMAZING pricing!!!! This is gonna give the Linea and City a hard time surely! Now I'm thinking of going for the Vento instead of the Polo Highline that I've already booked
Eagerly waiting for GTO's review!!

Ooooh I cant wait to see Honda climb down its high pedestal of pricing. No matter what happened they never brought Jazz to a realistic price, Market indifference eh? Coz City is selling well? So Shoo Shoo mere mortals?

Hope this German "HELLO" will be a poke in the right place for them.

Whoa! This's going to decimate most diesel competition. This car is going to be the first VW best seller.

Thanks GTO!

1.6L Petrol Trendline : 6,99,000
1.6L Petrol Highline : 823,500

See the price diff of this 2 version. Almost 1.25L. So you can imagine the diff in the feature. Looks like this price is only to say the "Starting Price". And when you go to show room ideally we will land up buying a higher end rather than just a entry level.
However its nice that Competition is getting tougher day by day. And hope finally end consumer will benefit. Also we will lots of variant on the road rather than just few

Well done VW!

That's amazing pricing. Now please produce many of these babies and put them on the road. Public perception of a car selling well is very important. The more you see, the better it is for future demand. I havent seen too many polos on the road and although the problem is VW's slow production or lower capacity, i have ignorant friends who say this car hardly sells !!

Achtung Baby!

oops, achtung city!

thats a cracker of a price tag. Honda, danger is looming at your bread and butter model. Time to launch your city limited edition that I saw last week.

Thanks for the scoop GTO ! Great pricing, pretty much inline with expectation. However I thought they would do a 8.99 pricing on the Automatic. Still is 55k cheaper than the City.

Anxiously awaiting the drive report!
