one thing that will make or break VW is A.S.S. so far, their grop companies in india do not ave a stellar reputation and in the US at least, VW is not known for good A.S.S. in fact, it i susually rated pretty low don on that front.

else, after the initial euphotia around the polo and vento, the sales will head down pretty fast if bad A.S.S. stories stat surfacing.

Press Releases

VW released the prices yesterday. Carwale lost the race :P

With Linea T-Jet coming up, if priced well.. will be an obvious choice in Petrol. The Vento diesel of course takes the cake.

I dont think so. The Press Release reads.

The diesel variant is also equipped with the 1.6 litre engine paired with a 5- speed manual gearbox, with an output of 105PS @ 4400 rpm and a Torque of 250 NM @ 1500-2500 rpm and has a fuel efficiency of 20.54Km/l.

20.54km/l is class leading fuel efficiency. Every new car just keeps climbing up the ladder. The Altis diesel is one case in point.

IMHO,

I would wait for one or two quarters to figure out this car's performance on the road and check out any other areas which are irritants to the actual users, e.g., service support etc.

New Fiesta is expected in Q1 2011; no clue whether it is a sedan. If yes, and it promises the same handling that the present Fiesta does, I am all for it. Ford had greatly improved its service network in NCR.

Also, If I have to shelve out approx. 10.5 lacs to put the VW Vento on the road, I might as well lug out 2 more lacs and wait for Kizashi to show up. I agree it is in a different segment altogether, bit its new age looks alongwith the proposed specs are surely attractive.

Oops ... Thanks for clarification.

For Petrol it has mentioned like 105(77), does it mean same?

If the torque sets in as early as 1500 RPM, the car will certainly have good drivability in city areas. The Diesel car is a sure winner except for the 10L+ price. Looks VW days are ahead.

18 pages after just one teaser from GTO. That's evidence enough of the Vento capturing imaginations across the country.

Old timers - when was the last time a new launch generated such excitement?

6.99 is basically to enjoy road tax benefit in delhi. Let' not forget, delhi is a major market for cars in all ranges.

This is excellent pricing; hope the product turns out to be great. Its interesting to see ANHC sales for the next couple of months. We need such strict competition in C+ segment against Altis/Civic/Laura. IMO, Jetta is a bit expensive to take away Altis/Civic/Laura buyers.

Overall, good for our country. I just hope a day will come when companies like VW/Honda/Toyota sell cars at US rates!
