What is the fuel efficiency (FE) of your Santro Automatic (AT)?

Dear All, I have recently bought a 2nd hand santro AT. I will post details in other thread.
Team BHP is a vast community and it will help to understand the FE of AT Santros.
I am opening this poll to find what's the FE santro AT owners get.
We can also share tips to increase the FE, specific checks during servicing etc.

Please share tips only related to Santro AT.
No point in discussing general tips like anticipate braking, regular servicing, tire pressure etc.

I have had mine for 5 years, 39000km. Totally local running - with AC 9kpl without AC just over 10kpl.

2005 model, 30k done, stock condition incl. tyres also in stock form.

Overall 10 kmpl with 80 % AC, Mumbai city traffic.
Half of the time it is b2b.

Regular style of driving, dont use kick-down mode very often

On extremely bad days (where it takes 2 hrs to travel 20 kms) it drops to as low as 8kmpl.

I get between 10.5 and 11.5 kmpl with A/C on most of the time.
2007 model, 22k on the clock, tires one size up over stock, within city use only.

My colleague in Technopark, Trivandrum gets 10 km/liter for her office drive - Moderate traffic, 100% A/C, and light footed driving. Car is almost 3 years old.

I have voted 10 km/liter, though the mileage figures are from my Colleague.

I have one since 2003 and with 99% a/c usage and many hands driving her, it has always given me in the range of 8-8.5 in the city traffic. never more. Maybe better average is possible if the car is taken occasionally on the highway. This has almost never seen the highway runs

3 times tank full method checked over a distance of about 900 kms gives me about 10.9 kmpl FE. :(
Voted 11 kmpl after rounding.

Edit: Driving in Pune city. No time or situation to drive on highway.

I once got 15.2 on a highway drive on shell fuel, 13-14kmpl is the norm on low-traffic highways.

Otherwise it is about 8-9kmpl in city driving conditions.

Santro had AT . No AT model in its lineup now.

Why is FE of santro AT so less? AFAIK the same gearbox is carried over to i10, and i10 is heavier too. Stil I get 12.5 - 13.5kmpl in my daily office commute and have observed 19kmpl in one highway trip.

Santro has had the best AT (and the only 4-speed AT) under 8L for many years since 2003. I have owned mine since July 2003.

Check this travelogue: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modif...-n-effect.html (Modded Santro's day out on the Highway! (Universal K&N Effect))

Looks like you are the only one getting those numbers. Everyone else reports numbers close to the Santros'

BTW, the engine is totally different ..Kappa 1.2.

Thats again a bigger engine - and this poll suggests I have atleast 5 others reporting FE of i10 AT greater than 12.

I guess we should put it to better tweaking of the engine and better mating with the gearbox.

Also note i-10 has EPS whereas Santro has the energy sapping HPS.
