Altis D4D Delayed in non BSIV Cities.

There was an article in todays Malayalam Newspaper (in Kerala)stating that the Toyota Altis Diesel would not be available in Kerala till around October due to the fuel quality in non BSIV cities. The article mentioned that the dealers are taking bookings but the deliveries would start only after October when Kerala would start getting BSIII fuel.

I have two doubts.
1. What is so different in this engine from the D4D engines on the large number of Innova's doing duty on kerala roads for quite some time now?
2. What about other manufacturers who came out the petrol/diesel engines that are BSIV compliant and that are being sold in non BSIV cities(that have BSII fuel still)?

Nothing. May be Toyota is trying to create some hype around it.

dunno whats with these Japs and their diesels. Honda never introduce diesel always complaining about fuel quality and now Toyota too? Why is it that the european diesels have no problem with fuels here? And not to mention toyota has diesels too.
Maybe it is just a supply issue, this is just a lame excuse to gloss over it.

Well layman's answer is the 2.5 D-4D is not so high-tech as 1.4 D-4D.
