I got a mail from my friend.It had the leaked pic of the new 2011 VW Passat.Its a complete new design on the lines of the new design strategy of the VW.Its escorts the some what Polo front look which can be seen on most new VW cars.This picture is said to be of the production ready car which is going to be launched at the Paris Motor Show 2010.

I asked the host of Car and Bike show on ndtv about the launch of this car in India and he quoted that."The car will take 18 months to reach our shores".
It is expected to come with the 2.0 ltr diesel engine with Manual and Auto DSG option.Either 1.8 Tsi or 2.0 ltr Tsi petrol will make it to our shores.

IMO it will be placed in the Skoda Superb territory.What do you guys think and anyone has any update about the car?

Anyone has the dates of the Paris Motor Show 2010?

Looks good. But on the other side, all VW's now look like they've evolved from the Polo; which may be a good thing or bad!

somehow i find it very similar to Vento. Not really sure if VW really want to make all their model based upon polo's front !

The car looks pretty bland from the front and going by the bracket in which it is going to be, it looks like one uphill task for VW. However like the Superb pricing, another very crucial factor, may turn around the fortunes of this car which till date has not found many takers. Blame it on the competition though who are better as of now.

Are you sure this is a Passat??? I may be wrong, but this looks like the upcoming new VW Jetta. On the other side, if this pic is indeed of the new Passat, it would indeed be a unique strategy from VW: Polo-Vento-Jetta-Passat: all looking similar, but gradually growing in size&specs (& offcourse prices). Not sure any one else have this kind of strategy (perhaps Audi (A3-A4-A6-A7-A8)???

Well bro its is the new Passat.The New Jetta(in the pic below) too has similar looks but that's the strategy of the Volkswagen to make very car look the same.

First Audi... then BMW... and now VW.. all manufacturers are losing the individualality of their models across the lines

And we complain about Tata using the same design across their vehicles :D

This is looks like a giant Polo sedan!!

Why Why!!??

Pissat had a nice large car look! why would VW downgrade the looks to a Polo( no offence to Polo, it is just the price range compro)

Headlight and the front grill looks little different from the Vento. Though its look is very similar to VW Polo sedan.

That's not an actual car, but a rendering by autobild German magazine which was there some time back.

In the future, you can have the model of your choice in any price range you want. If you like a BMW, you have their entire range to choose from! Same with every other manufacturer.

I also saw a new2012 passat picture.Looks like real thing.Well,I still like my 2009Passat more attractive

^ The 1st image looks PS'ed. The body shadow is too sharp to be real. Also, lighting and shadow around front bumper floor and LH A pillar seems a little weird.

But we do know for fact that the new Passat is gonna come with grill similar to the polo.

Isn't it the Scirocco that started it all?

Exactly my thoughts, look at the brighter way, a Polo/Vento might pass off as a Passat, giving the owners a new high :P
