Front is virtually unchanged from the current USDM Civic. Rear is a take on current gen C-class (wrong choice for inspiration IMO)

The car still appears to be sitting pretty low on the road. Will the Indian version get a stiffer suspension or raised GC?

Yeah. Reminds me of the prev gen Camry.

Less aggressive too. It's lost the twin-tip exhaust :(

Yep the front looks exactly like the US Civic, but the overall car looks better than the intial pics where it looked like an overgrown City.

The rear certainly looks old school.

That car is the US model, not the ASEAN model because:
  • It has amber front turn indicators.
  • left hand drive. ASEAN countries are RHD.

The front bonnet is smaller than Civic since its trying to follow the City's design. What we need to know if the interior volume vs the exterior size.
Its interesting that Civic is trying to get smaller and efficient while its chief competitor Corolla is trying to look bigger.

Some more civics caught on a trailor in Japan for US exports, pics courtesy the Brazilian site mentioned on it.

The grey one looks good. Has that sleek in front to getting bulkier towards (although not much) the rear look, the arrow shot?
The presence of the car is not visible and is also does not look as low slung as the current model.

The tail lights have a flat surface in the vertical plane and is different from C class (a little Volvo'ish). From side view it might appear like that on C class though.

You spoke my mind! The car's gonna be an entry level sedan in the states but I don't quite see how it'll appeal to a more mature audience in India. The rear is just plain horrid, it beats that of the new E-class in my opinion.

As Technocrat said earlier, the designers seem to have run out of steam designing this one. How does one further evolve a revolutionary design? I think they would've been better off starting with a new design DNA rather than merging the ANHC and old (rather present) Civic. The stance still seems pretty low.
All said and done, i see a lot of the younger buyers queuing up for this one. Has a lot of potential for some serious customization

re: India bound 2011/12 Honda Civic ? EDIT : Clean pictures on pg. 19

Well, Honda came up with a completely new look for the current Civic and is doing the same with this one. Atleast, they are not afraid like the other makers whose new models look more like minor model changes.

I don't think the rear looks that bad. It looks differently from rear and side ways and is not so clear. It could have been a little small though.

Sid buddy is it possible that this is the USDM and the previous ones spied on a truck were the JDM ones?

My reasons are as follows-

The previous ones spied had an opening in the bumper for foggies and also the alloys were different. The ones spied here dont have any place for fog lamps like the previous gen USDM Civic and also the alloys are different.

I still feel the previous one spied looks identical to the one spied by Cars Middle East and that was in all probability the JDM Civic.

Actually Civic is not sitting low at 170mm, even on current models. It is the soft suspension and long wheelbase that does the trick scraping the bottom. The face lifted version from end 2009 has a stiffer suspension and rarely bottoms.

On second thoughts, the alloys look the same.

re: India bound 2011/12 Honda Civic ? EDIT : Clean pictures on pg. 19

All the cars are US bound models. They have dark amber turn indicators and are LHDs if you look carefully, in the two posts that showed the truck crrying the cars for export. The Civic sedan comes in DX, LX, EX and Si versions in the US, so some basic versions do with/ without fog lamps, different bumper designs, wheel trims etc. Basic civics there come with wheel covers. US markets require cars to have orange turn indicators as part of federal rule. And Honda did say that this version of civic will not be sold in Japan as a gasoline sedan.
