While browsing Wikipedia for Indian auto industry, I came across a suprising fact, that our very own, very old, workhorse, Our Maruti Suzuki Omni van, Which was a part of my life for a good 20 years, Which has companioned m800 for putting India on wheel, Is actually a Nippo-American offspring.

It was developed before 1986 under GM Suzuki Collaboration for the main purpose of carry van and was sold as Bedford Rascal, and was mainly produced in England. Later its production was shifted to Japan and was sold with Badge Suzuki Supercarry. One of its iteration as passenger van is sold as Maruti Suzuki Omni in India and is still under service.

So we can say, its not only that Japanese cars are reliable. GM can also make super reliable cars.
