VW Passat CC spotted on Mum Pune Expwy

I spotted the incredible looking Passat CC on the expressway last night. The car had red temp plates so I assume it was undergoing testing. Looks way better than the 2011 Passat. I hope VW india has plans to introduce this and is not merely testing in India.

Pls excuse the quality of the pic. Taken at over 100 kmh. The Vw driver was really pushing it to the limit. Could'nt get any closer in my Innova.

Isn't that a Phaeton? I saw it in the Thane showroom the other day and it's rear looked very similar to a Passat but the loooong wheelbase pushed aside that doubt. Infact, I saw the car having a same colour as your pic.

It's a 2010 VW Passat which is on sale in UAE, the design flow lines are almost similar to Mercedes (especially CLS).

Is it a CC? Or a Phaeton?

Attached pics as follows.

The first five pics are of the Passat CC : # 1-5
The next three are of the new for 2011 Phaeton :# 6-8
The next three are of the current Phaeton available in India : # 9-11

Notice the difference in the design of the C pillar and the sloping roofline between the three. Now which one is similar to the one seen by manishk123?

Take your pick.

Regards

Its the Passat CC - No Doubt.

If its in testing, pending a 2011 launch - They have me as a customer, ready and waiting with a check.

Great catch manishk123, it is without doubt the Passat CC,

Indian luxury car segment is booming and VW doesn't want to miss out because of their conservative designs.

What a sexy car that is ! Great catch sirji! And the new Phaeton looks a killer !I liked it much better than the current Phaeton. Awesome.

I had once seen a Phaeton on Mysore road -- was blown away by the size of the car.

That is indeed the gorgeous Passat CC! Nice catch! I wonder if it is a private import or is VW actually testing it? @manishk123..what kind of reg plates did it have?

This would give a good competition to the E-coupe at a much lesser price.

Worldwide Passat CC is positioned at a much higher price point than the Passat.

My bad then But heck, why do these Germans make cars which eventually look the same? And what does CC stand for?

Passat CC is much more expensive than the normal one. This is with good reason just look at the specs and the body

Volkswagen Passat CC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is also a nifty Park Assist Vision in it
