Has the wheelbase been as short in the current safari also? Looks a little disproportionate.

The following changes are there
1. BS - IV (Obvious)
2. Twin tail pipes, branching from the center
3. Chance of projector setup in head lamps
4. Possible 2DIN HU
5. Instead of that beige, now it will have dual tone interior
6. Rain sensing Wipers
7. Tire Pressure Monitoring System(TPMS)
8. Spare not on tail gate anymore

I read somewhere that the interiors i.e dash etc have also been changed/replaced with new design? Can anyone confirm this? This one should come in soon after March?

Awesome scoop.

The windshield's rake seems to be similar to the current Safari. Other than that, there seem to be some minor differences.

Hi Everybody,

This scoop is great, have heard a lot of rumors of the next generation tata safari....confirmed it from internal tata sources...it might be out by april 2010.

If the new Safari is really ready to be out by April 2010, why did not Tata showcase it in Auto Expo 2010? Hope the car does really come out by mid 2010, when I will be on the look out for my next car.

Tata launches for new vehicles happen usually in Aug/September. I guess for April 2010 it will be the old one with lots of chrome. And then in September, you get the real thing.

With spare wheel gone down the belly , does the last row now becomes Front facing in new Safari?

Any news on Roof integrated rear a/c ?

Hope gear lever hinderence to Music system operation gets resolved.

Steering mount audio / phone control?

Full size Console box between driver-front row seats.

Enough storage points cup holders for rear passengers.

ABS as standard Airbags option from LX variant

I tust the new Safari comes with all these properly addressed.

This is a good thread.

For me the new safari looks more aggressive with a new front with new headlamps (HIDs+Projectors ). From the look of it under the camouflage, i hope it looks something similar to the Chevy Camaro

The side cladding looks completely different to me (may be more aggressive).

If you guys (tsk & others) could elaborate on how you saw the twin exhausts, it would be very educating...

Is the ARIA an all new platform ? if so is it a monocoque or ladder chasis ?

wondering whether this SAFARI is going to be based on that

Land Rover influence can be see on this test mule by TATA.

Tailgate has a very low opening to facilitate easy entry exit.

nice work TATA

It'll be quite disappointing to see the spare wheel go under the belly.

I am also forced to think if Tata will use the current Aria platform for the NG Safari and offer 4x4 as a standard feature.

Ah.. the Classic Land Rover style bonnet and lights. I saw it today near TML plant an hour or so back. In the dark couldnt make out much but, it seemed to have the same breadth as of current safari but the lenght seemed shorter, might be due to missing tail mounted spare wheel

Edit: Missed telling the new design of the foot boards. and those rims are R16's. Am i the only one to see the exhaust coming out of the rear bumper ?
