bhailog, my dad is getting 9kmpl on his Honda City1.5 Exi, now if i get around 9kmpl in the Sonata, then i dont care one bit more about anything and would just go buy the DeepBlue Pearl color!!! and if the mileage is around 7kmpl, then i gotta think about it. In general perception, i doubt getting anything more than 7kmpl in this, as it is very powerful! but then, the workshop ppl were saying that the engine is very different, LAMDA Technology, and that the mileage is bound to be around 9-10kmpl.
I asked the Dealer to giveme a 100-150km testdrive, asked him to get a full tank, and i will then refil it after my testdrive is over to check the mileage. he agreed, but the funny part is, he is giving me the test driveon a brand new vehicle which is meant for sale to some prospective buyer. the car he has already has 125km on its ODO, and now hez removed the Speedo Cable! now how the hell will i know how many kms i have travelled and what hte mileage is!

All this while (After reading jkdas's posts on various threads ) I thought our friend jkdas owned HMIL ... Just joking, but he is a die-hard Hyundai defender.

The Accord diesel was released in 2003
Check this article... November 1, 2003
http://www.topgear.com/drives/B5/A6/...sts/15/01.html

It is not expected in India... India gets only the American Accords... and I dont think they have the Honda Accord i-CTDi diesel there...

Any idea what is the base petrol engine to be offered in the Indian Laura? They launched a new 2.0 non-turbo FSI engine with this car overseas.

That 2.0 L 115hp engine needs to be retired. I am not sure if FSI will work with Indian fuel. They have watered down the FSI for North America too because they found tuning the engine for North American fuel a bit difficult. I am tempted to suggest the 2.5L 5 cylinder Lamborgini dereived engine that powers the base Jetta here but 150hp would be straight into RS territory!

VM motori manufactures the engines for hyundai . the crdi engines come from the italian manufacturer . so ,most probably it has to be some engine from the VM stable.
