I do not know about the first image posted by ram but the second one was around for a few years and is a spoof. I remember seeing it wround the time when Swift was launched in India.

Time for me to try!

My version of how the Swift sedan could look like. Tried pasting SX4's boot to the swift . Have tried to make changes starting from the C pillar. Used MS Paint. I think it gels quite well. Tell me how is it? (My favourite is the 4th one.)

Good work, Ashu! Looks quite cool - like two ends of a limo chopped away and then joined minus the middle section!

guys, i don't think it will be a swift with a boot. i don't think maruti would do what tata did with indigo by just adding a boot. they would go the chevy and honda way and launch a completely different looking car.

What more can we ask for then?

But Honda does not manufacture the hatch here, so the benefit of savings made in sharing parts (the reason for identical looks and the pasted boot look) does not apply in their case.

What Chevy has done is commendable, but not many manufacturers in India follow this practice.

Tata and Mahindra are completely Indian decision makers, planners, designers, prototypers, volume manufacturers and after sales service providers.

The others are merely screw-driver mechanics and pedlars representing foreign companies. These Indian representatives do not design cars. Even modifying a door-handle is beyond their contract, leave alone innovating fresh dies for different sheet metal or designing a whole different aluminum engine.

No comparison between
the one who owns property and conceptualizes and builds his own house as he pleases, and
the leave-and-license holder with a perishable time-bound contract, who may not be permitted even to change bathroom tiles.

May be, but interiors will surely be bought from Swift !! When they did it for SX4, they would definitely do it for Swift sedan.

BTW, Maruti should rethink of borrowing interiors from Swift to all cars upto GV. This doesn't make me feel good if I want to upgrade my SX4 in future, I may choose different vendor instead of Maruti.

Ashu good job but seriously after going through these if this is the one i wonder why there is a need to add "sedan" to swift ,simply extending the cramped boot to "Marginal" level It still looks as a Hatch only
