Sadly, we are a minority. Majority wants mileage and more mileage. Proof is that the Swift ZXi is struggling now because of the VDi. people are willing to give up airbags, ABS, auto-climate control and all, which are not even options on the VDi (only ABS- option)

It will be priced below SX4......as expected that means that it will be priced around 6~6.5L. This will also be above price of DDIS & below SX4. How this model clicks. Why would anyone buy this when they will be getting SX4 with few thousands more? If they load all the features to swift sedan and keep it below sx4, then sx4 will take up a beating.......any guesses what segment it will cater to.......

Petrol Swift Sedan should cost around 6L, on-road.
Diesel should cost around 7.

Maruti might hike up SX4 prices to create a gap.

I am sure the new swift sedan would sport a highly reliable powerplant as the Esteem. If it is to replace the Esteem, it better live upto the benchmark the Esteem has set. Looks are going to be a subjective issue here. Some may like, some may not. IMO, if it is going to boast of a great engine then am sure a lot of customers would be in a position to compromise a bit on looks and appeal.

Pricing is going to play a major role here as well.
