This is no test mule, I've been seeing this car regularly on the bannerghatta road - electronic city NICE road stretch, almost on a daily basis for the last 2 months!
There is usually a driver along with a passenger in a rear seat.
I guess GM is testing the Insignia's rear bench comfort huh? lol:
You can see this car around whitefield/whitefield road often. I dont think it is a test mule. No red plates.
I saw the same car yesterday in front of Forum Mall heading towards Madivala, sorry couldn't take any pictures, as underground1419 mentioned, it was chauffeur driven and a passenger in the rear seat reading news paper. Dint look like a test car. Has someone imported the car to use its in India?
Most of the times the manufacturers get their vehicles to india to do a fiesability study after the studies are done there is an option amongst the company officials of buying off the car at a much cheaper rate. this can be one of those cases.
A 'friend of a friends dad':D has brought the fiat bravo in the same manner. Fiat had got the car down for a fiesability study and after the studies stated that the car would be almost impractical here in India the car was brought by the one of the company managers and gifted to his son.
Btw i find it better looking than the vectra
There is an Automotive company in ITPL also. This probably be the test vehicle for their implementation and test purposes. If so there should have been any sticker as a bonded item. These cars are registered.
NOTE from MODS: Thread being closed. Quite a few folks have seen it at multiple places and it seems it is a proper registered daily drive car.
Spotted this Opel sedan this weekend on the HSR Layout ORR. The back lights looked sexy completely lit! It was a Gujarat registered car.

Nice catch my friend. GJ17 is Halol. Thats where the GM plant is located. The car looks fantastic and you rightly said, the back lights are fantastic.
Is GM planning to bring back the Opel brand back to India or this could possibly be a company car.
GM will definitely NOt bring the Opel brand back. They might rebadge this car a Chevy or something....
It could also be a testmule for a new engine or gearbox or some other component.
I doubt its a test mule,i think most probably its a company car for a high ranking official.
In response to the Opel Insignia being spotted, as rightly said by Nikhil, the Insignia is part of GM R&D dept, got here for some design studies etc
Great pictures there, Manish! :thumbs up

Avishar is right, this is a company car. I've spotted it several times on the old Airport Road, but unfortunately, every single time, it was headed towards Domlur while I was headed towards Marathalli.
