Maruti A-Star : Now with a choice of 16 body wrap stickers!

First the 4 speed Automatic option (which is welcome), now the body wrap stickers (so unwelcome). Maruti continues to try bringing the customer's attention to the A-Star! I don't know what message they are trying to communicate here; for once, I am completely clueless!

Well, if only for the fun of it...some had me in splits

- Sold as an accessory

- 16 options

I think this is an Indian industry first, ie., offering a full body wrap in vinyl. Wonder how much these cost? But hey, this would be a good option to those who like to cover their stuff in plastic wrap/cover
Of all the listed designs i liked two, 5th and the last, they're okayish, but i wouldn't put one on my car.

Some weird designs!!!

Hey to contradict many, I like the ones with the tire marks on. But would I like one on my car, NO! It doesn't gel. I guess what Maruti is doing, is to flaunt the cash cow status that the A-Star is slowly beginning to fill in. It might be a case of too many cows in a basket???Hehehe.

Cheers

In a way it is a good marketing gimmick, there are a lot of people (like in our weird car thread) who like to be seen in such colorful cars and by doing this MSIL can save some cash on adverts as these cars invariably will look like promo vehicles.

Definitely don't want to be seen in a car wrapped like this!!!

The last 2 are okayish but would not dare get those stickers anywhere near the cars.

OMG! What's next, co-branded cars? Maybe they'll offer cars "factory-wrapped" in Pepsi or Nokia adverts - and pass the ad's cost as a benefit to the customer?

What about "custom-wrapping"? There are numerous cars with the names of owner's sons/daughters printed proudly on windshield. Some of such owners would love to order a car with the photos of their daughters printed on?

On a serious note, this is certainly an industry-first. Bold move by MSIL, let's appreciate that.

I saw a test drive car with the 6th vinyl. Looks different I should say. Not sure how many owners will go for it though.

Loud, and gaudy.I could probably count the number of these cars sold to families with my fingers. And I'm no Hrithik Roshan.:P

No doubt aimed at college kids who probably would feel that the car may add to their attitude.Or summat.

OMG! The third design looks horrendous. The A-star will sell only in limited numbers due to its abysmally cramped rear. Maruti, understand that and come to terms with reality.

Why do i get the feeling the design of these decals is a direct rip off from the vinyl list of EA sports NEED FOR SPEED underground 2 game ? Didn't they get any other source of inspiration ?

This would sell well with the Manga fans. Now if it has some Manga chick in there that would have been RAD!!!
