VTVT will make it more efficient and powerful. Hyundai i10 facelift going after Alto K10 here..First it was the A-star, then the i10, followed by K10 and we have Hyundai fighting for the top spot again (India's best FE over 800cc). What a battle. Let's hope the lights are proportional and not as big as the ones on the Beat

Interesting bit, from the scoop pictures it looks like Hyundai has replaced the "Integrated seats" in the current i10 with a conventional seatback-headrest version.

What ever it is I doubt Hyundai can justify increasing the price of i10 - it simply won't make sense, and the competition would love to cut into i10's high sales. Expect upgrades at the existing prices.

But why VTVT in i10 and not in i20? All know that i20 1.2 feels underpowered. BTW, is it a 1.2L?

IMO, Hyundai is trying all things to make i10 the highest selling car in India by introducing 1L, 1.1L, 1.2L, 1.2L VTVT and Diesel (?) engines.

+1. I think when they launch VTVT, they'll sell at the existing price without discounts. Black - Beige combination on the dash board will reduce the glare. And it would be great if they make ABS optional / mandatory with Sportz model.

hey - that VTVT is a nice catch. I guess it could add a few horses more and make it more fuel efficient.

IMO both the cars will get the new engine, it is just for testing that the i10 mole is used, which is obvious going to be redesigned as well. Moreover, the 1.2L engine is actually meant for the i10 & for the i20 it is the cheaper engine, not the default engine, which is 1.4L Petrol (abroad) & 1.4L diesel (India).

Regarding Hyundai trying every trick up the sleeve to boost sales, is obvious that it is trying to regain the No.# 2 position it lost to Tata.

The Kappa engine has two variants, 1.2liter (1197cc) (for Indian market only) and 1.25liter(1248cc) (for EU and General market). This engine is already being applied for i10 & i20.

Looks like the new look is going to be influenced by the new Elantra.

The headlamps look similar, but I doubt they'll offer HIDs in the Indian market.

The grille, the fog lamps and the lower air dam position look the same.
