BS III fuel supply implemented ahead of schedule

Highpoints:

- The SIAM welcomed the successful implementation of Bharat Stage III complaint Petrol and Diesel in the entire country well ahead of schedule (that was on October 1, 2010).

- Introduction of BS-III Petrol was advanced in 20 states and BS-III Diesel in 23 States. In the last leg, BS-III Petrol and Diesel has been introduced in the seven North Eastern States on September 22, 2010.

- Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, SIAM & President-Automotive & Firm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “We congratulate the Oil Companies on successful completion of the programme of upgradation of auto fuel quality ahead of the schedule. The implementation of BS III Auto fuel across the country enables the availability of better quality fuels and will improve the air quality with reduction in emission of pollutants in fuels to a great extent and the industry is geared to introduce BS III compliant vehicle from October 1, 2010.

Of course, this is not applicable to the 13 BS-IV cities : NCR of Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Solapur, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
