Tata Safari 2010 - A refresh this month

People, It seems like we have one more 2010 variant of Tata Safari !

Source - CarIndia / Safari with a new look coming soon

Gist - "We admit the Safari is looking a little tired,” said Tata Motors MD Prakash Telang. “You will see a refreshed Safari by October this year."

So, we have had 2010 facelift and now a refresh

Eeks!!!, I have just bought Safari LX and refreshed Safari is on the way.

But looking at history of Safari, do not expect much changes than current version. They might add/remove few things here and there and expect considerable price difference.

But I like the looks of the current 2.2. It's a toss-up between the old 3L Chrome grille and the current one, but otherwise I think it she's just awesome! Wouldn't mind better QC, though, to improve the dash, switches, electricals (etc, as reported by others).

Hope they don't Facelift and change the face. I don't think there is any vehicle more admired in India.

I know exactly how you feel bcoz I took 2010 facelifted VX on Feb 2010 and here we hear about another 2010 refresh - funny.
However, I dont expect an huge change since its almost confirmed from the other thread that the "All New" Safari should hit the market on March 2011.

+1 to that - I too dont want to see any major changes to its look and +1 to your latter statement as well [regarding admired in India].

Hope they have been able to manage a front facing third row, if yes, I might be interested in one.

Refreshing the Safari is to give it a little more life till they get the new beast ready. I hope TATA does not screw-up trying to "overdo" something that is good.

I'm looking forward to this refreshed Safari. If they get better QC for this beast, i would consider buying as my Fusion will be touching 100 K kms very soon.

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

Frankly, I have absolutely no problem with the way the Safari looks as it is. Hope they don't mess it up with a refresh like their competitor. All the Safari really needs is:

1) Better QC
2) Front facing third row seats
3) Reclining middle row seat
4) Better fit and finish for dashboard.
5) Integrated roof ac vents rather than making it look like a cold storage truck.

I can't think of anything else to complain about the current version.

I also think the 1.9MJD, 190 bhp 3.0 crowd will have to wait for a couple of years.

OMG! I hope they're not contemplating giving it the Manza/Aria headlights. Time to commit suicide if they do

ROTFL, that's my worry - you have the trademark grill on the competitor & now the trademark headlights on this one! Agree with your comments though - revamping their QC is a step that can do wonders.

PK, the list that you mentioned is a speculation from CarIndia. Tata Motors MD Mr. Prakash had ONLY ONE STRONG statement "You will see a refreshed Safari this October".

So, I really dont believe, they would anything major like the speculation made by CI folks.

If Tata do those by any chance, I will be VERY VERY ANGRY !

Prem.

Phew! Now more confusion for me. My Safari is not yet billed, so I have the choice to wait for the refresh. But how long I'll have to wait is the question?

This is really really becoming a long wait for me.

I hope they dont change the price with the refresh. Then I can look at the refresh, decide if it is better than current, if yes go for it, or take one of the pre-refresh ones...
