What's wrong with it? I've never faced any issues with mine, except the leather on the dashboard has started cracking. It's a 2006 V6 petrol.

A brand new Japanese on a Flatbed

Nope, it hasn't broken down. That's a new way NEXA has come up with to deliver cars to new homes, while escaping the maddening traffic.

That's a BMW 320d on a flatbed truck near the entrance of Nice Road from NH4.

Looks like a new car though. Physically the car didn't have any damages whatsoever, mechanically I'm not sure. The missing number plate could also suggest that it might be a new car being delivered to a showroom, although I'm not quite sure.

Even a champion can have an off day! Saw this late model Innova being towed to the Toyota service center in Lucknow a couple of days ago. No sign of accident, either.

Quite surprising, indeed!

Similar shock for me earlier today!

PICS : How flatbed tow trucks would run out of business without German cars!-dsc_01451.jpg

Upon casually asking the helper a bit later, he said that the flatbed truck was being tested, seemingly the owner of the Truck, its load was in the Eeco right in front, which was also his.

I remarked that its not usual to see a Toyota on Flatbed, he said "Hyan lekin truck to Tata ka hai" (I dont think this will need translation!)

Sir, Toyotas are known for their reliability, hence the surprise on seeing an Innova being towed away on a flatbed

It's always lonely at the top. A new broken down Mercedes C Class on a flat bed.

Two Audi Q7s go to Ladakh. Both break down . Part of the Audi Independence Day challenge by Overdrive.

Thanks to Jasjit Singh for sharing these images from Rohtang Pass. Jasjit adds

Not a very good advertisement for the Quattro System though

How ironic that you can take a Maruti Alto to Ladakh without trouble, but not a premium car costing 25 times as much! When will the Germans build reliable cars.

All said an done, including the lack of saftey and premium features until couple of years back, nothing beats the Maruti Suzuki combine in building vehicles for India. They are the epitome of reliability for Indian conditions. Toyota was in this league but surprised to see them getting the unreliable tag.

Audi's current "Quattro" ad pooh-poohing the weather is so ironic in this context.

Here's the video

HEY!!! That's the one I was driving! I was driving it when it broke down

Ironically, it made it up Rohtang without issues. It broke down a bit before Pang. Then it was nursed to Leh after a couple of days of being stranded. A mechanic had gone there and disconnected some sensors and drove it slowly to Leh.

This picture must have been taken when it was being shipped from Leh to Delhi/Chandigarh.
