Was parking my car in my apartment in Chennai. Noticed a camouflaged Car standing right outside my apartment building. At first I thought it was the Honda City. Since the car was parked, came back and had a close look at the stickers to notice Hyundai Sticker with “Make In Korea” tag . So it is a Hyundai. Dont know what car it is. Closer look revealed that the front grill looks like the new Verna. Rear and side profile looks like the City/ Upcoming Civic IMHO. Here are some pics I managed to take.

MODS: Please add TEAM-BHP watermark. I did what I could manage.

I wish you had focused the camera properly. Never mind, you've done a great job

It looks like a new Hyundai Verna to my eyes. Scoop Gurus, correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice capture! Its definitely the new Verna as mentioned above.
Bring it on Hyundai ! I hope they don't mess up with the pricing.

The interiors were totally covered with black clothes. Not an inch was left open. One thing I could say is the interiors look much bigger than the current Verna.

1. @ balaji. Great job balaji,, this indeed is the new Verna/Accent. appears good enough to beat the honda city if properly priced.
2. @ sidindica. Good thinking about pasting the brochure link. great fan of your writeups.keep up the good work.

Well, you'd think as an enthusiast. However, the Verna transform has certainly rejuvenated sales. Check the figures from recent months.

I quite like the design ! Its very much "City" like side profile. I hope they get everything right this time - like having ABS / Airbags right from the beginning ! Last time when they launched it for the first time, these were missing in the fully loaded trim as well. I hope they make it standard in all variants ! Bring it on guys ! Any idea when is this supposed to launch ?

No doubt about it. Anything "NEW" always rejuvenates sales for a short term.
I still remember the Zen Classic when i think about the transform
Am sure thats Hyundai India's plan in the 1st place. A stop gap measure till the new one is launched.

This will sell. Looks good and of late Hyundai are getting their acts fairly successful. Look at Santa-Fe figures!

Personally I loved this design.

None of the current C (or even C+) segment sedans have equipment levels to match the i20. I am glad Hyundai is raising the bar once again. Accent will push the competitors to include more equipments for the price offered.
