That's the problem when manufacturers don't kill off the old model when the next generation of the same model is launched. Hyundai should have been like 'Toyota' and 'Honda' and should have killed the old Accent when the Verna was launched.

Accent is still doing > 1000 numbers per month, presumably at higher profits. So, Hyundai will be reluctant to replace it. The Verna Transform though was launched only as recently as 6~7 months, so those customers will feel cheated if it is replaced now.

But, I guess Verna Transform will be shown the door and this will be badged as 'Verna' as this cannot be sold at the current Accent prices.

I was at the Trident Hyundai in Bangalore, they informed me that the new Verna is getting launched only in the last quarter of 2011, earliest by October, before the festive season.

Instead of Verna and Accent, there is a possibility that this vehicle (hatchback version) might be launched as i30 in the Indian market.

I30 already is sold in world markets as a C segment hatch (its based on 2007 elantra platform and new replacement based on 2011 elantra-MD platfom is under development) and the verna/ accent hatch will not come to India. Instead, the santro, i10, i20 and the H 800 will serve Hyundai's foothold in hatch segment.

I dont see a market for i30 frankly, it does resemble the New Fiesta hatch , BUT the i20 Asta CRDI almost costs 8 lacs OTR . So where is the room for i30 hatch??

It looks so beautiful in all the pictures, I am planning to buy its CRDI Top Model, as soon as it is launched.

This is going to the launch of 2011 IMO.
Looking at the pics /specs etc, I am sure it has all to shake up the C+ segment altogether and become the new king of the segment.
Man, this looks so damn sexy! Specs are amazing - the 1.6 petrol will be 120 BHP+ and going by history, the 1.6 CRDI will be a scorcher as well.
Add to that, this will come with best-in-class features as well.
I just hope Hyundai sorts out the ride and handling of this car and then there is no stopping it.

cut my cheque for that 126 hp diesel..a good alternative to the vento but will it be a good handler?

Technical refinements include a variable swirl control system which helps to minimize emissions and a chain drive for improved reliability in valve train control and a bed plate-type lower crankcase for better block rigidity, lower noise, vibration and harshness.
The auxiliary belt is a serpentine-type for improved reliability and compact packaging.

At the heart of the power plant is a new 1600 bar CRDi system which is capable of delivering up to five injections per cycle permitting much more precise control than was possible with the previous 1350 bar system. As a result, the U2 generates a total power output that measures an impressive 128PS(94kW)@4000rpm.
Torque is rated 26.5kg.m(260Nm)@1900~2750rpm–best in its class, and more than 90 percent of the maximum torque is achieved at 1500rpm.

With the Hyundai service, we are in for a real good diesel monster!
How about the space in the rear and hump at the middle seat in the back?

Gosh, this is real mouth-watering stuff. 128 horses of diesel power under the hood is just too irresistible. But, will it be available at the existing price range?
I can't wait for April 1st, if at all that's the launch date that HMIL has planned for Verna RB !
