Scoop Pics: Hyundai i20 3dr, LHD spotted in Chennai

I spotted a Red Hyundai i20 3 door, left hand drive on mount road, chennai last sunday Oct 9th at about 08:45 PM. I couldnt manage better pics with my phone camera due to crazy traffic. Sorry abt that :(

The i20 is for the export market. India is the manufacturing hub for many models of Hyundai.

hey.

I too spotted a same i20 LHD in white color in ahmedabad almos 6 months ago. It had a similar center console as the indian sold i20 and a sun roof. It was driven by 2 suited booted Hyundai execs.

I also had a chat with them and was informed that it was an export version on test across a few cities. When asked about the possibility of launch of a similar variant here, i was told that was the managment decision and not the technical team. There role was only to test and gather data & report.

The car was spotted near ISCON mall along SG ROAD.

I spotted a blue i20 3 door left hand drive yesterday on mount road Chennai near Saidapet. It had on it's boot, "blue" embossed, seems it means the new blue drive range from Hyundai, I guess.
The guy who was driving was on phone, and it was almost drifting towards me into my lane carelessly. Then I noticed it was 3 door(some thing unique) and so decelerated and went round it from behind, noticed it had this blue thing. Some minor modifications to tail lamp cluster too, it seemed to me. Couldn't manage any pics:(

isnt the chennai plant, the only plant where the i20s are made world wide? may be wildon can confirm.

Yep. Chennai Plant does make LHD i20 3Dr

The Turkey plant has taken over the exports as per some reports
