Re: Tata Motors loses 2 top dealers to rival cos

And two new Fiat dealers haven't been announced yet! :(

Though I purchased my 90 BHP Punto from Pandit, my experience was not good either. My service is due in the Feb first week, I hope there is someone reliable appointed by that time.

Re: Tata Motors loses 2 top dealers to rival cos

I have been to Pandit auto (Pimpri ) twice for considering buying a Manza on a corporate deal; however their i dont care attitude has held me back. I am waiting for another dealer to be announced in my area. The idea of a single dealer for a vfm brand like Tata takes away any negotiating power that a prospective customer like me can make use of and thats simply unacceptable to me as a customer. Doesnt Tata realize it that a single dealer strategy in its production plant area can take away a lot of customers to other manufactuerers like Ford and Hyundai who have multiple dealerships in the same area.

Don't know if it's a trend now with TATA dealer's nationwide.
But one of the bigger TATA-Fiat dealers in Hyderabad - Autofin shifted to Maruti.

Millenium Mobility, new Tata Motors dealer, is open now. Got a few courtesy calls from them. Showroom is same as old Maruti showroom, opposite Shopperstop on Mumbai-Pune Road and service center is in Dapodi.

While Tata is busy giving as face-lift to its vehicles, it desperately needs give a face-lift to its dealers, at least the ones here in Goa. The dealer attitude (or lack of it) was one of the main reasons why I gave up on buying a Tata car in December 2010.

+1 to that. I wanted to buy the Linea. Concorde Motors in Hyderabad spoke to me as if he was doing me a favour by letting me buy a car from his dealership. I ended up buying the Bolero instead.

Re: Tata Motors loses 2 top dealers to rival cos

The game has just begun.

The big dealers always oppose offering new dealerships in the city / vicinity. However, with the rise in number of vehicles sold, a manufacturer would wish to have as many sales points as possible.

This conflict gives rise to such dessertions / dismissals.

TML business mode has been low margin high volume one. Once a delaer name becomes big, he would sure want to work less and earn more hence the switches.

Anyawys I can certainly feel tht TML is pulling socks up for better customer care if not car. Hope new dealerships would help TML make their customer's life easier.

Rgds.

Is Tata Motors only company in India which has lost a dealer? I don't see any threads about any other manufacturer losing a dealer.

This has not happened for the first time.

I remember reading an article in a leading newspaper many years back that one prominent dealer had ditched MSIL for Tata.

A month back,a prominent Tata dealer in Secunderabad has recently ditched Tata for MSIL.

True, shifts are quite common. For example, the current Mercedes dealership of B U Bhandari in Pune was a Honda outlet (Grand Honda, a BuB affiliate) earlier.

When dealership shifts are common then why a thread only on Tata. Isn't it Tata-bashing?
