Now, this thred have got me dreaming:

I will go for Option 3. My dream garage will be:

3 L for setting up my tool set - to satisfy my DIY soul.

RE Bullet 500cc + RE bullet 535 City bike - 1.5 L (including self-restoration)
A pre worshipped motard bike + a pre worshipped tourer - 10 L
Pre-worshipped Jeep with a good engine (For the off-road enthusiast in me) 4-5 L
Pre-worshipped Cedia (with some performance mods -to satisfy the long distance driver in me) – 5 L
Pre worshipped Toyota Qualis (Or a Forrester if I am lucky enough to find one) - for family trips / airport trips/ luggage hauling - 3-4 L
Pre-worshipped Indigo / indica diesel – (the practical runabout car.) 1.5 L

Best Driver Cars

My knowledge is very little, and given a chance i would go for cars marked as driver's car, but dont know how many i can have in this budget, please stop me once i cross it. Might be by having used one i can have more

1.) Small -- Alto K Series -- The Pocket Rocket!!!

2.) Diesel Hatch -- Swift Diesel -- We in friend group call it DADDU, though i dont like its turbo kick, i like more linear and long lasting.

3.) Petrol Hatch -- Some 1.6L Patrol -- Palio 1.6 OR the new Polo 1.6 fits in here, any other option?

4.) Diesel Sedan -- Verna Diesel -- The Famous Road Rocket!!!

5.) Petrol Sedan -- 1.6S Ford Fiesta -- The Best Driver Car in its segment, note the 'S' for variant, that is important.

6.) Old is Gold -- OHC -- It's dream so why not to have eyes on GTO's OHC

7.) Executive -- Optra Megnum -- To me its one of the best looking car for executive, i just like its interiors and no words for its performance.

8.) Racer -- Mit's Cedia -- Never tested, but will go by the words of experts.

9.) Something New -- Optra Cruze -- Would like to try it.

Guess I have already crossed the budget and if not then I dont have any idea about above this levels.

I missed adding the:

10.) Turbo Petrol -- Linea T-JET -- This definitely over cross the budget as i cannt get it used. Will have to go for used ones which ever are possible.

I won`t spend my hard earned money for bmw 3 series or mercedes c class as they are charging 30000$ for us customers for a top of the line petrol model which they sell us for 35 lacs. This is irritating and i feel kind of racist feeling coz the white guy gets it at less cost than us and the chinese too because their government is more active.

I would prefer more practical garrage,

1) A Diesel Hatch for daily city commute
2) A Petrol Small Hatch(like Alto,i10) for wife/dad for shopping
3) an SUV for the long highway trips(Fortuner class)

All in my dreams..........

Well if someone is racist its not Mercedes or BMW but our government which has levied these idiotic taxes. LOL

Ah! For me,
1. Pre-worshiped Pajero (10 lac) + (5 lac) for offroad capability enhancing modifications done on this http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...rtuner-mod.jpg
2. Pre-worshiped Swift (P) with stage 2 performance mods (6 lac)
3. Linea T-Jet or a Vento (D). Can't make up my mind without a test drive.

Nope. The last bike I owned was a humble RX100, but I have a couple of rides 5 - 6 times a year on friend's superbikes. Would prefer a 600, though finding clean imports are difficult. Hence the liter class.
Yep, always a biker first

& yes 600 is best for use in India & if you have to go higher class then either the busa or the Bandit as both have relaxed riding positions & have good power as well.

This would be it:
Petrolheads, what's your ideal 30 lakh rupee Garage?-30l.jpg

7l+21l+75k. Whatever is left over I would spend on customising the interiors of the Fortuner!

Almost hit option A, because my cars are always self-driven so a 3-series or C Class seemed like a good choice, but then realised the Germans really are overrated. Unreliable, too expensive to maintain, and overall just not worth the hassle.

A used Honda Civic can be purchased in under 8 lakh, and with a few mods can be as fun as the Germans.

I chose option D (other).
Reasons
- 1 fun to drive car is enough for me, don't really need an assortment of cars to own and maintain.
- My cars are always self driven. If I ever need a chauffeur I'll buy a Manza and be ferried around in that, still my total expenditure is just 16 out of 30 lakh.
- I'd rather save/ invest the remaining cash, or blow it on other luxuries (70+ inch TV )

Ultimately took option D, because even if I had 30 lakh to blow, I probably would never spend that much on depreciating assets such as cars, doesn't make much sense financially when a heavily modded Civic can serve all my enthusiast needs.

Option D (Other): Spend 8+2 lakh to buy and mod a Civic, spend/save remaining 20 lakh elsewhere.

Resisted myself from posting this since yesterday the moment I saw this thread but somehow, can't hold the urge to post any longer - if wishes were horses, beggars would be riding them

If I have this much hard cash at my whim, I would seriously be nuts to splurge entire amount on cars, no matter how big a petrolhead I proclaim myself to be. There's an old saying - money pulls money - therefore, rather than spending it on, as someone has rightly mentioned, a depreciating asset, I would rather invest it in a manner that I at least have an appreciating asset.

Once my investment touches 100L mark, I would pull out 35-40L and then splurge it on an EVO. Hopefully HM/MM would be able to launch it in Indian market by the time my investment grows, taking its own sweet time

Oh yes, no marks for guessing where would the remaining funds go.

EDIT - voted for 'Other' option on the poll

Okay!!

option4, other

Considering i will be using the car on my own, self-driven et al, i would choose something like an e46 m3 or cls. Depends on how much i buy the car, i would use the spare change/excess to beautify it in a tasteful fashion.
If only i get that money to splurge.....if only.
