Tata Nano prices up by Rs. 9,000

Inevitable, considering the minuscule margins & inflation.

High Points:

- Effective from November 1, 2010, Tata Nano prices will go up by about Rs. 9000 (ex-showroom).

- Nano available off the shelf in the states of Kerala (since August 2010) and Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal (since October 2010).

Oopsie, Lucky me, I just picked up a Nano LX yesterday, no one in the dealership told me about the impending price rise.

Guess Tatas had no choice with all the inflation in raw materials. Still a good value for money car and this should not alter Nano sales by much.

The price rise was inevitable. Was wondering for long TATA can sustain the price increases. Now this pushes the price close to M800 prices in EIII cities.

Also, its better to increase price rather than using cutting corners.

Will the newer model have 5 doors, I mean with openable rear hatch door? There was talk of a new variant with more features.
