good point.

CRV is based on civic and the hyundai is also a sedan based 'Crossover' vehicles. they are not the old school genuine 4WD vehicles, they are wannabe 4wd vehicles.

Fortuner would soon be available in 2WD AT version.

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

I am in Bhutan for a Business trip. I have seen a lot of Ix35 (Tuscon here in Bhutan)
At the trade fair where I am participating I got a chance to get close and check out the Tucson . It is fairly price at only $13500 (selling for 820000 Nu)
I will upload pictures , price list and the brochure which i got from here.

The picture which we see in the page 1 is for Temporary Number Plate for Bhutan Registration. Even the car at Display here was also with similar number plate.

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

I found out the exact details from the dealer here in Bhutan.
All the vehicles (Tucson, Santa Fe, New Sonata, Accent(Indian Verna) that come to Bhutan from Hyundai are direct imports from South Korea. The vessels bring the vehicles to Kolkata Port and then they are transported to Bhutan.
For the last six months the roads have been very bad (NH-31) so the trailers are unable to take the vehicles to Bhutan. Instead the vehicles are driven down to Bhutan from Kolkata.
On my way back a saw a few New Tucsons, Sonata's , Santa Fe and a Van like car driven towards Bhutan.

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

if only the fools at Hyundai would make the Tucson in India and price it fairly, they will simply eat up the market
it is a superb Urban 5 seater soft roader with loads of bells, whistles, 4WD and safety kit - priced very well in the International Markets.

Somehow it seems that only in India do these manufacturers make a mess of it by seeking some sort of Premium holy grail. When will they understand the value of catering to the utility focussed mass market consumer?

I think we deserve better than what is currently on offer and certainly we need a fairer price!!!

Car looks really good! I hope they launch it soon. Hyundai has demonstrated an amazing turn around in the design of their cars. Who would have imagined the company tht presented us the 1st gen Santro would ever be able to give us such a good design!

Wow, this is amazing piece of information.
So is Bhutan RHD market like India?
And what about the warranty and service support?
Is there a Hyundai Bhutan? Or does Hyundai India cover this?

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

I spotted the Tucson in Delhi around AIIMS. The car had a temp registration.

Sorry I could not take front pics but it had a fluidic look upfront.

If priced wisely, this can do what Santa Fe failed at !

Here are the pics.

Seriously,i am sick of this "fluidic" design. Hyundai has overdone it by applying it over their range of vehicles. Honestly, the side profile looks like a larger verna thats all!

Ditto that! I too feel that the new design languages of most manufaturers are a bit too boring with the family look now.
*Now any new hyundai's face can be rendered easily from spy pics -Hexagonal grille anyway!
*2012 Honda Civic's resemblance of current City!
*Toyota's new Camry is inspired by the current Corolla Altis!
* BMWs all have a too similar face!
*AUDIs all have almost the same butt!
*VW is the funniest of all, Polo/Vento/Jetta face anyone?

Hope Hyundai don't get very predictable and boring too

Well then, my two cents - the front looks a bit like Mickey Mouse on stilts...? The Fluidic thingie does not appear to be too terribly fluidic on an SUV scale, if I may so say!

Same here... But I like i20 though. The new verna has more curves and i never felt it is good looking. I am sick about seeing Hyundai cars next to the Tata's (same front design including premium car Aria)

The Hyundais are doing pretty well with their other models , the international ones . Look at the Equus or the Elantra or the Hyundai Veloster , Veloster is such a radical design . Its a 3 door car , something no one else has ...

Even if they look same I believe they have really improved from what they were just a few years ago . Look at the older sonata or accent but the new models are so appealing and at a fraction of price with all the bells and whistles .

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

looks quite like an I20/ I30 on steroids.
or a new verna with a hatch and on steroids.
the thing is that this will succeed here only if priced well - and this might indeed happen, with the XUV having landed up and blown away much of the opposition.

Re: Spotted: All new TUCSON

The car is headed to Bhutan via Kolkata that's all. It's not on test in India. It looks nice and Hyundai would have done better had they launched this than 'the Old gen' Santa Fe. It would have been cheaper and better seller with the fluidic treatment. From the rear with its wide haunches it looks like a 'Cayene'.
