So , the production version will have the same ' yuck ' looking rear end ! A good looking car is totally messed up by that rear end . Now only pricing and brand name will save this car !

Yep I guess not just the Brio, almost all models of Honda and Toyota will definately be hit as there is a significant portion of their cars that is imported into India. Fortuner and Innova may get by due to the imports happening from Thailand mainly.

There's a video playing on the Honda Thailand site . Possibly it's the launch video , playing live. The car looks decent size in the video , comparable to the Micra. Good looking beige interiors. Possibly 20 kmpl from the same Jazz engine . The economy and the engine capacity is a speculation , as the site is in Thai !

It says 90ps 4 cylinder 16 valve IVTEC engine, same as JAZZ.
That would make the car a rocket to drive. Wish the suspension and steering are great too.
Price is a bit high. Lowest variant with MT costs around 5.9L if converted to Indian money.

BTW , I was surprised to see the thai launch got a go ahead , whereas the indian launch was canceled .

The car is priced between 3,99,000 baht for S MT, 4,69,500 for V MT and 5,09,500 for V CVT in thailand.

Same 1198 cc, 90 ps@6000 rpm, 110 nm@4800 rpm I-VTEC Jazz engine.

At this point of time , the only change from the pre - production car , is the black beige scheme on the dash , than the all beige scheme .

Honda needs to really price the car well , else it will lead to another Jazz !

I think Honda being Honda (and the bias of this nation with anything with Honda written on it) can get away with selling this at a marginal premium (say 30-50k) over i10. Anything more, will be an overkill. It certainly is much smaller than i20-Swift. They surely don't want another Jazz.

So, this should ideally start at 4 lacs for base version. Why should Honda sell something as small as this for 5 lacs ex showroom and still call it VFM

Edit: The interiors looks good. All Honda engines are good by default. So, this could boil down to the price. For a change, I want a Honda product to do well (not frustrated by its overvalued products). Thus quality be accessible to all at affordable price.

PS: The only Honda car I like is CIVIC.

After going through the pics from the first and last page, these kept running in my mind.
The rear bulge looks like Micra. Front hood like Verna. Frontal bulge like Beat. The rear like a share auto, hate the rear glass shield.

All in all, I welcome Honda to the hatchback. But please dont price it like Jazz. We need a affordable hatchback with the name Honda engraved in it.
