Re: Honda Brio - Small car for India - unveiled!*UPDATE* SCOOP Pics Pg.23

Hi,
Wondering why a more mature car market (Thailand) would have a car without a proper HVAC system.

Maybe because its marketed as a small car for the young ones (more to the likes of university students or fresh grads), or as a second or third car in the household for city runabouts.

I do hope you are right on both accounts. And I guess the pictures are from Thailand, but not very sure. The Thailand spec sheet mentions only air conditioning with no mention of Climate control or heater anywhere. Has anybody got any concrete information with regards to these 2 queries?
The Indian Brio will be tailored for Indian customers.

I've noticed that the Indian spec Hondas and Toyotas are sold in fewer variants, but come with more bells and whistles than the Thai-spec cars.

Auto-climate-control is missing on the Jazz. So I don't think you'd find it on the Brio either.

The Jazz will not retail @ 5.5 ex-showroom for long. Honda will look to hike the price by a small margin, but this will give them more room and help to position the Brio in the market. My guess is that the base Brio would be priced at around 4-4.5 lakhs ex-showroom, and the top-end would be around 5.5-6 lakhs ex-showroom.

I'm wondering the same. They many not need heater (hot country?) but surely need defogger.

Indian car to get beige interiors. The only thing I dont get it is that the rear hatch is total glass. Which looks a bit weird

Since the Brio is targetting the i10/Beat/Ritz segment, etc., the range could be within 4.2L to 5.5L, ex-showroom Delhi, depending on the variants on offer.

And since both Jazz as well as City come with 3 variants each, expect the Brio to be offered with 3 variants initially as well.

I beg to disagree. In the winter evenings and nights we definitely need the heater. Also, you sometimes need both the AC and heater to dehumidify without getting 'chilled'.

I thought they had already test driven the car. They had put up a report as well in an earlier edition.
