This is the India Spec Brio that is being showcased. I believe Honda has organised a press briefing + drive for the media at Vizag.

Here's the latest reviwe of the BRio which appeared in DNA website. By the review it looks like Honda may have a winner on hands although cant judge how much DNA's review holds truth. If the pricing is right then I think the sales will take off or else the same fate as Jazz.

Honda’s got Brio - Money - DNA

Re: Honda Brio - Small car for India - unveiled!*UPDATE* SCOOP Pics Pg.23

Pics of the New Brio, if priced sensibly, Honda has one more 'headache' of the good sort - read long waiting lists. This definitely seems out to lick the likes of i10, Ritz, Beat and of course the other new entrant - Liva. (all the petrol variants at least) :-)

Pics courtesy Zigwheels, also has their review.. Honda Brio: First Drive| Zigwheels.com

Now eagerly waiting for our in-house TD pls.

It looks Different. I am not sure if I like the looks or not. The back looks a little out of sync with the rest of the car.

Not sure of the looks, definitely would not a get a second glance. However all could change if priced properly unlike the earlier launches of Honda!

Cheers!

Is that the top end? I see a 'V' badge next to BRIO. But it does not have rear washer/wiper and defogger. These are standard in Jazz right? I feel these are important in India, where enough dust settles on the cars parked in public.

Quite a lot of parts in the interiors are from the City (hood release lever, Head lamp leveler switch, Entire HU, Gear knob, Power window switches, Power mirror adjust switches, Speaker covers on the door -they look similar at least ). Which is all really good for the Brio customer !

Nice but qwirky I hope Honda prices it sensibly and exposes the mass market to a quality product.

It's one hot chilli pepper, come guy's start to enjoy the difference, snap out of the drab shapes you see day in and day out. I'm just sold on this shape. It's got everything from alloys to airbags to ABS and EBD and the tyre's are 175/65 R14, my old Accent came with just 13 incher's. Honda has gone the whole hog. Now cross your fingers and pray that it doesn't shoot itself in the foot again by pricing it like the Jazz at launch.

The rear! the rear! Yuck!

Lovely alloys, hope they give that too as an option.
We own a blue Jazz that wears the same alloys on the Brio in the website.

It's available as an option at most Honda dealerships. We were told that they are Enkeis.

Alto like side Antenna. Not a good one for 2011 model.

Cheers!

Re: Honda Brio - Small car for India - unveiled!*UPDATE* SCOOP Pics Pg.23

Because of a rather awkward looking rear, I guess the rear head space is also compromised. The rear glass area reminds me of the erstwhile Santro when it was introduced.

If the engine is going to be the same as Jazz and this one has more goodies than Jazz but at a lower price range(hopefully) what happens to the Jazz then? Honda has this knack of introducing competetions with the siblings itself so this must have been taken care of.

The engine is the same as Jazz though in a slight different tune. 88 PS instead of 90 PS...but considering the power:weight ratio, this one will have the highest in the hatchback segment and will be quite a 'pocket rocket'.

Which goodies are you talking about here?
I don't see any additional feature in the Brio compared to Jazz. Rather, it is clearly missing some features like the rear defogger, wiper , remote boot opening etc. not to forget the space and utility in the Jazz.

Brio will compete with I10/Ritz/Beat whereas Jazz will compete with I20/Polo etc. The segments are clearly different.

Quirky design ! Not able to decide whether it is good or not.
Does it come with steering mounted controls ? One of the pic seems to suggest so.
