My guess is Renault will go single, and not tag along with Nissan (who themselves does not have a strong network to talk about). My instinct say that Renault is going to do better than Nissan in our market

Had a talk with someone in Renault few days ago and they have no plans of opening dealerships with Nissan. He also said that Renault customers will not be able to service their vehicles in the Nissan service centers.

Renault's Fluence to roar on Indian roads, to be launched on Monday - Business Today

• "We will be formally launching the car on May 23 at Delhi," Renault India Country Managing Director Marc Nassif said.

• According to industry experts, the sedan is likely to come with a price tag in the range of Rs 10 lakh-Rs 12 lakh.

• Referring to the launch, Nassif said it would be brought to the country as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and be assembled at their joint venture plant with Japan's car maker Nissan at Oragadam near Chennai.

• Fluence would be available at 12 dealership outlets across the country initially. "Currently, we have appointed about six dealerships. By the end of May we should be having 12. The plan is to have 100 dealership networks by 2012", Rao said.

• According to company officials, Fluence would be available both in Diesel and Petrol versions. The Petrol version is equipped with 2.0 litre 140hp, with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) or manual six speed gearbox while the Diesel version is powered by 1.5 litre engine.

I think the unveiling is at 12 noon. Renault Fluence launch on 23rd May: official images and details we know most things about the car already. There a couple of things that I am waiting for:

1. Prices.
2. Diesel interior look and feel.

Its surely happening today! So far no news on the net on the prices though! waiting for the Diesel prices!! Diesel Fluence could turn out to be a trump card for Renault if priced correctly.

The diesel, which is a stripped down version, would work out to be more than 14 lakhs OTR. Pricey, if you ask me.

Update 2: Renault India announces the price of the Fluence
Petrol version starts from Rs. 14.4 lakh ex-showroom
Diesel version priced between the Cruze and the Jetta , and starts from Rs.12.99 lakh ex-showroom
